Mugabe Feared Those Who Ousted Him From Power May Use His Body For Rituals – Report

Nehanda Radio has said that Leo Mugabe, the late president Mugabe’s nephew has explained why his family kept very close vigil of his remains at all times during the 22 days after his death and before his burial. According to the publication, the former president feared that those who toppled him from power would use his body for rituals if they get the chance.

Nehanda Radio wrote:

Mugabe’s family had since the arrival of his body from Singapore, kept vigil over his remains because the former president had expressed fears to close family members before his death that some of the people who ousted him would seek to conduct a traditional ritual with some of his body parts, Mugabe’s nephew Leo Mugabe said

The late leader was buried yesterday at his rural home in Kutama Village in Zvimba after the family made a last-minute decision to buy him there instead of the National Heroes acre as per the initial plan. A Mausoleum was already being constructed for him at the Heroes acre.
