EU Urges Zimbabwean Govt To Find And Bring Home Dr Magombeyi

The European Union (EU) has joined the chorus of voices calling for the immediate release of Dr Peter Magombeyi, the acting president of the Zimbabwe Hospital Doctors Association (ZHDA) who was abducted on Saturday night.

In a statement on Wednesday morning, the EU urged the government to act swiftly as per the court order and do all it can to bring Dr Magombeyi home safe. The statement reads:

Dr Magombeyi is still missing more than 3 days after he vanished. We can only imagine the agony this causes his family and friends.

The government needs to act swiftly as per court order and do all it can to find him, to bring him home safe and the perpetrators to justice.

Following Dr Magombeyi’s abduction, doctors and other health workers at the country’s public health institutions have downed tools, demanding his immediate release.
