The opposition MDC has claimed that the father of MDC Bulawayo Youth Leader, Pashor Sibanda, was abducted by suspected State security agencies.
Posting on Twiter, the party’s Welfare Department said:
Suspected State agencies abducted MDC Bulawayo Youth leader’s father, tortured him and dumped him in a cemetery in the cover of the night. Pashor is a young Zimbabwean whose only crime is fighting for a better Zimbabwe where he and his peers can get jobs.

A number of people mainly belonging to the MDC and human rights defenders were reportedly abducted last week by suspected State security personnel.
Analysts claim that the timing of the abductions is a pointer to the government’s intentions to scare the public against participating in MDC scheduled demonstrations.
The MDC intended to conduct a blitz of demonstrations across the country starting on the 16th of August. However, the police have so far managed to block the demonstrations in Harare and Bulawayo.
Meanwhile, the court is expected, at 1600 hours, to give a verdict on the MDC urgent appeal on the prohibition order that the police served the MDC. The order culminated a ban on the Bulawayo demonstrations.
