Even ZANU PF Is Yet To Receive Money Under The Political Parties Finances Act - GOVT

The Zimbabwean government has said that it was yet to disburse funds under the Political Parties (finances) Act as it was seized with other issues including the importation of basic goods and the cushioning of the general public from the current economic challenges.

This comes when the opposition MDC has claimed that the ruling ZANU PF has since received its share of the money. MDC political leaders were saying that the decision by the Minister of Finance, Professor Mthuli Ncube, to withhold political parties funds was crippling the party’s operations.

The government has dismissed allegations that ZANU PF was given its money saying that all money under the Political Parties Finances Act will be disbursed soon.

This was revealed by Permanent Secretary in the Ministry of Information, Publicity and Broadcasting Services, Nick Mangwana, who in a statement said:

When the funds to finance political parties are available, they will concurrently be disbursed to all eligible political parties. This is expected to happen within the next few weeks.
