The Zimbabwe Electoral Commission has said that it seeks to hire a Consultancy Firm in an endeavour to cleanse its tarnished name.
The electoral board has been accused of manipulating election processes and results in favour of the ruling ZANU PF.
Addressing the media on the sidelines of a workshop on the African Charter on Democracy and Election Governance (ACDEG), ZEC Commissioner, Joyce Letitia Kazembe, said:
Our public relations and communications strategy certainly could be better so we want to bring on board a whole consultancy firm to look at how we can rebrand and then approach a number of stakeholders when we have given them our ideas on what we envisage from the particular firm in developing and ensuring that we brand ZEC so that we have a better image to present.
ZEC’s intended rebranding exercise comes at a time when the opposition MDC led by advocate Nelson Chamisa have declared that they will not participate in any election led by the current ZEC team.
