MDC president Nelson Chamisa on Thursday morning revealed why he refused to meet President Emmerson Mnangagwa together with other opposition leaders at State House on Wednesday.
While addressing a breakfast prayer meeting organised by churches that are seeking divine intervention to ease challenges facing the country in Harare today, Chamisa said:
We can’t have a dialogue when other people are in prison on the account of politics …when others are mourning their loved ones…
Addressing the same gathering, Zion Christian Church (ZCC) Bishop Nehemiah Mutendi has urged Chamisa and ZANU PF leader Emmerson Mnangagwa to emulate the late MDC leader Morgan Tsvangirai and former president Robert Mugabe. The duo agreed to dialogue under the mediation of the Southern African Development Community 2008. Said Mutendi:
We must follow the examples of our predecessors. During the difficult period in our country, Dr Joshua Nkomo sought peace and our Former President Robert Mugabe sat down with Nkomo and they talked peace.
Tsvangirai made peace with Mugabe and he did not consider it humiliation but he did it for peace. When Mugabe made peace President Mnangagwa was his right-hand man when Tsvangirai made peace Chamisa was his right-hand man so why can’t it happen now?
No no no Mutendi is offside!!! NKOMO was coerced – how did it end. Tsvangirai succumbed to violence —-where did it end. No there must be no GNU now. We must learn from experience….
Mutendi its corrupt.we dont want church leader who involved in politics. Mnangagwa and Mutendi they are satanist nyembe yakatorerwa Masuka ichipihwa mutendi naMunangagwa zvirikunze kwemutemo chirudzii ichocho.hatina presdent muZimbabwe
Uridofo iwe kana usingazive bvunza. Masuka Na Mutendi havana kumbenge vari under one religious roof. Zion yaMasuka ndeyendaza vanotamba vachizeya vaya. YaMutendi ndeyemabarge vanotamba jeketera. Samuel Mutendi founded the ZCC in 1913 after baptism in SA. Upon his Death in 1976 he handed over the mantle to his Son Nehemiah!. Where was Masuka then? Revisit your history. dont fake news to support your diabolic thoughts. Put your stupid thoughts accross and they are viewed as such!!
If someone thinks he has keys to the economy, he wants to bargain before negotiating. The reality is that our economy is being affected by the so called big giants USA and UK who imposed sanctions on us so that Zimbabwe will be isolated economically. Hostile media also tarnish the image of this country.
Politics ne church zvodyidzana papi zcc is satanic. Ma sanctions are for individuals no t all zimbabweans. Mutendi must repent or perish
Thanks my boss ,but mind yo speaches
I thank
I am glad chamisa did not attended this meeting, because the majority of Zimbabweans don’t want him. We don’t want him to have any say in Zimbabwean politics. It’s sad that some of us still see him as pastor, a pastor so hard hearted? Can a man with the Spirit of God be this hard hearted? Never! Chamisa would rather have Zimbabweans continue to suffer with his jecha politics than to simply accept defeat, the truth he can’t swallow.
