The gang of five robbers allegedly robbed a Smart Express bus travelling from Mutare to Beitbridge on 17 December last year. They boarded the bus pretending to be ordinary passengers and later turned against the bus crew, where they fired indiscriminately inside the bus, killing one passenger Margaret Mungani and injuring two other passengers.

They robbed all passengers and the bus crew of their mobile phones and cash, before melting in darkness.
