Mnangagwa’s Russia Visit Expected To Revive US$3 Billion Darwendale Platinum Project

President Emmerson Mnangagwa is expected to visit Russia and three other Former Soviet Socialist Republics (FSSRs) this week. The visit to Russia is expected to unlock US$3 billion for the Darwendale platinum project.

The Darwendale Platinum project was initially brokered in 2014, but up to now, nothing tangible has been accomplished. Mnangagwa is expected to finalise the deal during his visit. Speaking about the trip last year, Mnangagwa said:

In mid-January next year, I am scheduled to visit Russia at the invitation of President Putin. The Russians are players in our platinum mining industry. Together, we should be able to ensure Darwendale Platinum Project finally takes off.

Mnangagwa is expected to make stopovers in three FSSR, namely visit Belarus, Kazakhstan and Azerbaijan.

  1. New 2019 fresh bullshit mega deals. I always love the language these shitty reporters always use in their propagandist articles, words like “expected to unlock 3 billion” ED is the most incompetent president ever. A guy with no plan zero clues head so far up his ### he lives in old man fantasy world. What a joke what a failure what a sad pathetic human
