MDC MPs Will Not Take Luxury Vehicles But Vehicles Suitable For The Purpose Of Being An MP- Mafume

When contacted by Daily News after Zanu PF MPs recently decided to forego luxury vehicles, MDC chief whip Prosper Mutseyami said legislators should get what they are supposed to get as the staff of Parliament.

Said Mutseyami:

As a party, we need all the civil servants to get what they are supposed to get … the staff of Parliament to also get what they are supposed to get. We are appreciating all the good things and sacrifices they are doing for this country. As a party, we appreciate that the staff of Parliament are doing well.

MDC spokesperson Jacob Mafume said the party’s MPs should get vehicles suitable for the purpose of being a legislator. Said Mafume:

We are not going to take the luxury vehicles. We are only going to take vehicles that are suitable for the purpose of being an MP.
