Castle Lager Premier Soccer League and Zimbabwe’s only representatives in the Total CAF Champions League, FC Platinum are of the verge of making history.
FC Platinum hosts Congolese side AS Otoho D’yo in the second leg this Saturday at Mandava Stadium in Zvishavane. The first leg played in Owando, Congo- Brazzaville ended 1-1.
FC Platinum, therefore, need a win by a single goal margin, or even a 0-0 draw will suffice. The winner of the two-legged encounter will book a place in the group stages of Africa’s premier club competition, whose draw takes place on December 28.
FC Platinum coach Norman Mapeza said that his side will not dwell on permutations but shout instead go for all-out victory.
Everybody knows where we are standing now as a club; we are just 90 minutes away from achieving our objective that is reaching the group stages of the Champions League.
FC Platinum will certainly be motivated by the hostile reception that they got when they travelled to Congo for the first leg and also by the comments made by CNaPS coach who said: “I don’t see FC Platinum going far in the Champions League”.
