Chiefs Demand Free Wifi Installation

Chiefs In Masvingo province have demanded free wifi installation at their homesteads so that they stay in touch with their people and are well informed. Chief Murinye encouraged the government to make sure that all the chiefs are technologically connected. The Chiefs tabled their demands during a meeting with Ezra Chadzimira the new minister of State for Provincial Affairs for Masvingo.

Said  Chief Murinye:

We need the internet because the bundles from service providers are very expensive. We cannot afford to buy the bundles hence we are kept in the dark over the developments in our areas.
The government gave us cars so that we can be able to navigate across the whole chiefdom but in the 21st century, we need to also interact with our people online.
The internet will not only benefit the chief but the entire chiefdom. Every person will be free to come and log in to the internet because we want to create a digitally connected people

One Comment on “Chiefs Demand Free Wifi Installation

  1. chieftainship is a button passed from one to another within the chieftainship family. so gvt must avoid to giving in to personal demands which may change if a new chief comes in. what l think is the establishment of national chiefs residents in the mould of state house. This must also be done to any benefit on farms . if the current chief dies, the next chief fromanother house must just go and reside at the chief’s state house qnd farm. otherwise generation to come, one family will.own everything coz every chief who comes wants recognition .
