Lands, Agriculture and Rural Resettlement Minister Perrance Shiri said farmers should not use sanctions as an excuse for low productivity stating that “sanctions have nothing to do with our farming and productivity”.
Shiri said farmers have other resources such as water and land which have nothing to do with sanctions. Said Shiri:
Sanctions have nothing to do with our farming and productivity so we should free ourselves in that sector. We can perform better even when we have sanctions. We have land, water and other resources that would enable us to enhance productivity.
Shiri also said there are a lot of opportunities in farming that farmers need to take up to generate foreign currency from exports.

Government should never use sanctions as an excuse for a poor economy!!
Sanctions was just an excuse from Mugabe but this new government should not be worried about America because we can even do better without them ivo vanongouya kuzotitorera ma resources bedzi vachienda nawo
Very true sanctions should not be an excuse for underperforming, Mugabe`s government were using sanctions as an excuse and looted the country`s resources. If we stop corruption and implement good policies, sanctions will have little effects on us.
Corruption does mo harm than sanctions, anti-corruption institutions should be strengthened .
sanctions no longer have relevance in Zimbabwe they failed and they are now part of our daily lives without any impact i exhort Zimbabweans to shame America by working for their livelihood with or without them we prosper.
