We Are Happy Mugabe Realised He Made A Mistake: Mnangagwa Responds To Bob's Letter
Speaking at a ceremony where he handed over 90 Isuzu vehicles to chiefs in fulfilment of his commitment to improve the welfare of the traditional leaders, President Mnangagwa reacted to his former boss Robert Mugabe’s congratulatory letter.
Mugabe said he was unable to attend Mnangagwa’s inauguration due to ill-health but instead sent his daughter Bona Chikore. On the eve of the July 30 elections, Mugabe indicated he will not be voting for Mnangagwa and Zanu-PF because of the ill-treatment he was receiving since his ouster last November. Mnangagwa said the letter by Mugabe was proof that the former President had realised he had made a mistake supporting Nelson Chamisa. Said Mnangagwa:
Even our former President Mugabe, who had earlier said he no longer supported Zanu-PF and was supporting (Nelson) Chamisa also sent a letter to congratulate me. He sent his daughter Bona because he could not attend because of ill-health. We are happy that he has realised that he had made a mistake.
