The government has introduced a special allowance for the Zimbabwe Defence Forces (ZDF) . The increase of 22.5 per cent is with effect from the 1st of July. A letter written to Martin Rushwaya, the Permanent Secretary in the Ministry of Defence and War Veterans by the Defence Forces Service Commission reads,
RE: IMPLEMENTATION OF THE SPECIAL ALLOWANCE ZIMBABWE DEFENCE FORCES
Following consultations between the office of the Chairman, Defence Forces Service Commission, Honourable Minister and Secretary for Defence and War Veterans Affairs, please find attached a key scale with 22.5% Special Allowance applied to members of the Zimbabwe Defence Forces.
Accordingly, proceed and effect adjustment with effect from 1 July 2018 as indicated on the key scales.
