Simon Khaya Moyo Summoned Over Wicknell Chivayo Deal

Parliamentary committee on Mines and Energy chairperson Temba Mliswa confirmed to The Chronicle that Energy and Power Development Minister Simon Khaya Moyo and former ministers Samuel Undenge and Dzikamai Mavhaire agreed to appear before his portfolio committee today to answer questions on the Gwanda solar project awarded to Wicknell Chivayo.

Despite being paid $5 million by Zimbabwe Power Company (ZPC) for the solar project in Gwanda, Chivayo has not done much towards implementation of the project. Said Mliswa:

Yes, we are meeting tomorrow and they will all be coming through. They have all agreed. So this is the last meeting we are having and the recommendations will come from the committee. But as Parliament we are going to be recommending soon after we have met former Ministers of Energy Dzikamai Mavhaire , Samuel Undenge and the current Minister Simon Khaya Moyo and the permanent secretaries so that we understand their involvement.

  1. If people want to be taken seriously please can they deal with Wicknell forthwith!!! Its a joke sincerely how one guy has mocked the judiciary system in Zimbabwe and roams around our streets freely. What l have learnt in Zimbabwe is that we celebrate thieves who steal millions and punish those that steal hundreds of dollars, it pays to steal big in Zimbabwe you get celebrated and you become a “socialite”!!!!!!
