A 16-year-old girl from Gokwe who was allegedly abducted by suspected ZANU PF supporters was dumped in Kadoma.
Chairmaine Chiremba, a learner at Njelele High School, was kidnapped in the early hours of Wednesday according to her father Christopher.
Christopher told the <a href="https://newsday.co.zw/southerneye/local-news/article/200009575/abducted-gokwe-girl-dumped-in-kadoma">Southern Eye</a> that Chairmaine was at Kadoma Police Station. He said:

I am currently getting information that she is housed at Kadoma police and is safe.
She was dumped along the highway by a black (Toyota) Wish car with no number plates.
She is still in custody at Kadoma Police Station and they said they are making arrangements to ferry her to Gokwe centre.
</blockquote>
He said they realised Charmaine was missing when her mother went to wake her up to prepare for school. 
Her mother found blood stains on the veranda of their bedroom and a note written ‘usivhotela ZANU PF mwana tatora’.
The note was written in a Shona dialect spoken in Gokwe, translated to “you should vote for ZANU PF, we have taken the child”.
Chiremba suspects his child was targeted because, in 2013, his wife contested for councillor under the MDC-T banner and lost. He added:

Abducted Gokwe Girl (16) Found In Kadoma

A 16-year-old girl from Gokwe went missing on Wednesday and her parents suspect she was abducted by ZANU PF supporters.
Christopher Chiremba told <a href="https://www.zimlive.com/girl-16-gone-missing-parents-suspect-abducted-by-zanu-pf-supporters/">ZimLive</a> that his daughter Charmaine Chiremba, a Form Three learner at Njelele High School, went missing in the early hours of Wednesday. He said:

We need assistance to look for our 16-year-old daughter Charmaine Else Chiremba.
On Wednesday morning, we heard footsteps outside our house.
I went to investigate and saw Charmaine and her sister coming from the toilet and I went back to sleep.

He said they realised Charmaine was missing when her mother went to wake her up to prepare for school. Said Chiremba:

He said the search party found the girl’s blouse thrown on the ground a few metres from the house.

Gokwe Girl (16) Gone Missing, Parents Fear She Was Abducted By ZANU PF Supporters

Chief Justice Luke Malaba has called for free and fair elections as the country heads for general elections scheduled for later this year.
Malaba made the call while addressing more than 200 magistrates and other stakeholders who are attending the first-ever Magistrates’ National Conference in Victoria Falls on Friday, 31 March.
He said magistrates are the protectors and the guardians of electoral freedom, fairness and human life and property. <a href="https://www.chronicle.co.zw/chief-justice-malaba-calls-for-free-and-fair-elections/">The Chronicle </a>quoted Malaba as saying:
<blockquote>
The purpose of designating magistrates with specific roles in electoral adjudication is to designate them as the protectors and guardians of electoral freedom, fairness and human life and property.
This purpose places an obligation on magistrates designated to participate in the implementation of electoral law to have an understanding of their roles and to fulfill them.
An election is a means of democratic participation enabling the aspirations of the nation to be openly presented without fear of electoral injustice, thus facilitating the assembly of these aspirations into a mutually beneficial national goal.
</blockquote>
Malaba also said immediately after an election is called, the Commissioner-General of Police, shall establish one or more special police units to investigate cases of politically-motivated violence and intimidation arising from the election.
He said the Judicial Service Commission (JSC) shall designate one or more magistrates in each province to try cases involving politically–motivated violence and intimidation.
Section 67 of the Constitution provides that every Zimbabwean citizen has the right to free, fair and regular elections for any elective public office established in terms of this Constitution or any other law; to make political choices freely, to form, to join and to participate in the activities of a political party or organisation of their choice, campaign freely and peacefully for a political party or cause, participate in peaceful political activity individually or collectively, in gatherings or groups or in any other manner, in peaceful activities to influence, challenge or support the policies of the Government or any political or whatever cause, subject to the Constitution.

Magistrates Are Guardians Of Electoral Freedoms - CJ Malaba

The Clerk of Parliament, Kennedy Chokuda and the director of procurement, Stanley Bhebhe, appeared in court on Thursday charged with two counts of Criminal Abuse of Duty as a Public Officer as defined in section 174 of the Criminal Law [Codification and Reform] Act Chapter 9:23.
The two men appeared before Harare regional magistrate Vongai Guwuriro, who granted them $100 000 bail each, reported <a href="https://www.hmetro.co.zw/clerk-of-parliament-granted-bail-in-messy-computers-deal/">H-Metro</a>.
She ordered them not to interfere with State witnesses.
The court heard that on 17 June 2022, the Parliament of Zimbabwe flighted an advert inviting interested bidders for the supply and delivery of 173 laptops and 79 desktops.
Ninety-two (92) companies showed interest, and the number was reduced to 30 after some were disqualified for different reasons.
On 29 October 2022, Mid-End Computers was notified by Parliament that it had been awarded the contract to supply 79 desktops at US$3 076 each for a total of US$243 052 payable at the interbank rate.
Treasury, however, refused to release the payment citing the extortionate prices.
The court further heard that on 16 September, Bhebhe originated a letter, on the instructions of Chokuda, to the Procurement Regulatory Authority of Zimbabwe (PRAZ) asking for authority to negotiate a price reduction.
Bhebhe in turn instructed Rudo Doka, the director of external relations, to append her signature on Chokuda’s behalf, as he was away.
But PRAZ replied and advised Parliament that negotiating a price reduction was against Section 52 of the Procurement Act which prohibits negotiations between procuring entities and bidders.
Prosecutors said the two asked for authority from PRAZ although they had already negotiated for a price reduction with Noah Sakudye, the director of Mid-End Computers on 7 September.
An agreement was reached and the price was reduced from US$243 000 to US$180 000 for the supply and delivery of 79 desktops.
It was alleged that the meeting was chaired by Parliament’s chief director of finance, Bernard Zvamada.
They allegedly submitted an unsigned Standard Bidding Document which would ordinarily be signed by Chokuda as the accounting officer.
Prosecutors said Chokuda should have cancelled the tender and re-tendered.
On the second count, Chokuda and Bhebhe unlawfully negotiated a tender that was issued to Blinart Investments.
The duo allegedly negotiated with Elizabeth Muchenje, the director of Blinart Investments Pvt Ltd, on 9 September.
An agreement was reached on the same day to reduce the price of a single laptop from US$9 264 to US$7 985.

Clerk of Parliament, Kennedy Chokuda, Granted $100 000 Bail

Armed robbers raided an abattoir and a homestead in two separate incidents in Kwekwe and got away with a total of US$11 000 in cash.
According to Midlands Police Spokesperson, Inspector Emmanuel Mahoko, both incidents occurred on Wednesday night.
In the first incident, about eight men armed with pistols, iron bars, and machetes arrived at Bellevue Abattoir just outside Kwekwe CBD and threatened workers and security with death. Inspector Mahoko told the Chronicle:

They demanded cash while threatening the workers and security guards, prompting the workers to surrender US$3 511 cash. They proceeded to blast open a safe which was in the store room and took US$813 and vanished after tying the workers with cables.
</blockquote>
In the second incident, a group of about six men armed with axes, machetes, and iron bars broke into a house in Redcliff’s Millennium Park suburb. Mahoko said:
<blockquote>
They threatened the five occupants who were in the house demanding cash. They ransacked the house and took US$6 243 and seven cellphones before vanishing into the darkness.
</blockquote>
Police are now appealing to anyone with information which may lead to the apprehension of the suspects to approach the nearest police station.
Armed robberies have been a concern in Zimbabwe, as they have occurred in various parts of the country over the years. These incidents involve criminals using weapons, such as guns or knives, to steal money or other valuable items from their victims.

Robbers Raid An Abattoir, Home, Get Away With US$11 000 Cash

Zimbabwean Constitutional Court judge and former Supreme Court Justice and High Court Judge President <a href="https://www.pindula.co.zw/Rita_Makarau">Rita Makarau</a> has been appointed acting judge of the Namibian Supreme Court from 1 April 2023 to 31 March 2024. 
In a statement seen by Pindula News, Namibia’s Judicial Service Commission said another Zimbabwean, Mr Justice Moses H. Chinhengo has also been appointed as an acting Judge of the High Court for the period 18 September 2023 to 31 December 2023. Reads the statement:

Windhoek – The Judicial Service Commission announces that His Excellency the President of the Republic of Namibia has, on the recommendation of the Judicial Service Commission, appointed the following acting judges to the Supreme Court:
1. Lady Justice Rita Makarau
Lady Justice Rita Makarua has been appointed as an acting Judge of the Supreme Court from 1 April 2023 to 31 March 2024.
Lady Justice Makarau currently serves as a Judge of the Constitutional Court of Zimbabwe. She previously served as a Judge of the Supreme Court of Zimbabwe and was the Judge-President of the High Court of Zimbabwe.
2. Lady Justice Johanna Sophia (Hannelie) Prinsloo
Lady Justice Johanna Sophia (Hannelie) Prinsloo has been appointed as an acting Judge of the Supreme Court for the period 1 April 2023 to 31 March 2024.
Lady Justice Prinsloo currently serves as a Judge of the High Court in a substantive capacity, having been appointed as such on 1 July 2017.

Dr. Justice Collins Parker is re-appointed as an acting Judge of the High Court effective from 1 April 2023 to 31 December 2023.

Mr. Justice Moses H. Chinhengo has been appointed as an acting Judge of the High Court for the period 18 September 2023 to 31 December 2023.
Mr. Justice Chinhengo is a retired Judge of the High Court of Zimbabwe and formerly of the High Court of Botswana and currently serves as an Acting Justice of the Court of Appeal of the Kingdom of Lesotho. He previously served as an acting Judge of the Supreme Court of Namibia for the period 1 February 2021 to 31 December 2021.
6. Adv. Ramon Maasdorp
Adv. Ramon Maasdorp has been appointed as an acting Judge of the High Court from 16 April 2023 to 31 July 2023.
He currently practices as a member of the Society of Advocates, having been admitted to the Bar in 2009.

Rita Makarau Appointed Acting Judge Of The Namibian Supreme Court

The government of Zimbabwe has been urged to withdraw trade licences from gold dealers implicated in an Al Jazeera documentary on the illicit trade of the precious mineral.
<a href="https://www.pindula.co.zw/Transparency_International_Zimbabwe">Transparency International Zimbabwe (TIZ)</a>, a non-profit local chapter of the international movement against corruption, said it was closely following the Aljazeera expose and is demanding that the government launches investigations into the cases. NewsDay cites TIZ as saying:

Law enforcement, anti-corruption agencies and regulatory authorities should immediately revoke gold trade and export licences given to the implicated individuals and corporations, pending an investigation into the allegations.
</blockquote>
Episode 01 of Al Jazeera’s documentary – Gold Mafia – was released last week, episode 02 is expected this Thursday.
In the documentary, Tendai Biti, a former Minister of Finance and Economic Development, claimed that Zimbabwe was losing gold worth about US$1.2 billion every year.
The documentary implicates a number of government institutions including the Reserve Bank of Zimbabwe (RBZ)’s Fidelity Printers and Refineries.
Individuals implicated in gold smuggling operations include:
1). Henrietta Rushwaya, the president of the Zimbabwe Miners Federation. She is also a gold dealer licensed to buy and export gold.
2). Uebert Angel, the presidential envoy to the Americas and Europe. He engages potential gold buyers and links them with Zimbabwean authorities including Henrietta Rushwaya.
3). Simon Rudland owns Gold Leaf Tobacco. He allegedly lends the RBZ money to buy gold from miners and export it.
3). Lamkesh Pattni, exports gold bars and jewellery from Zimbabwe through his company Suzan General Trading, which gets paid an incentive by the government to sell gold overseas. He allegedly not bringing all the proceeds from gold sales to Zimbabwe.

Zimbabwe Government Urged To Withdraw Licences From Gold Dealers In Al Jazeera Documentary

Two <a href="https://www.pindula.co.zw/Zimbabwe_Prisons_and_Correctional_Services">Zimbabwe Prisons and Correctional Services (ZPCS)</a> officials have lost personal property in a case they were being accused of assaulting trespassers.
Zimbabwe Lawyers for Human Rights (ZLHR) reported that the two ZPCS officers, Michael Nduna and Florence Chihambakwe, were sued for damages amounting to US$5 250 in their personal capacity by Harare resident, Alex Tendai Gombedza.
In a court update seen by Pindula News, the lawyers said the ZPCS officers accused Gombedza and his friend Evidence Kutsawa of trespassing before assaulting them.
Gombedza and Kutsawa were walking through the Chikurubi Prison garden in Harare in January 2022 when they were assaulted.
After the assault, an aggrieved Gombedza engaged ZLHR’s Tinashe Chinopfukutwa and Paida Saurombe who in August 2022 sued Nduna and Chihambakwe for damages amounting to US$5 250.
The money was for the physical attack and ill-treatment, for pain and suffering, humiliation, an affront to dignity and embarrassment. 
Gombedza also cited Justice and Legal Affairs minister, Ziyambi Ziyambi and ZPCS Commissioner-General Moses Chihobvu among the respondents. 
What happened:
During the trial at Harare Civil Magistrates Court, Chinopfukutwa and Saurombe said Nduna and Chihambakwe instructed Gombedza and Kutsawa to lie down on the ground before assaulting them on their feet using wooden pick handles. 
After the assault, the ZPCS officers instructed some prisoners whom they were supervising to also assault the duo. As a result, Gombedza and Kutsawa sustained severe injuries and had to seek medical attention. 
Gombedza sustained injuries on his legs and feet which warranted admission to Parirenyatwa Group of Hospital for treatment. 
He said he suffered excruciating pain in his feet, which he still feels to date. 
According to medical reports, Gombedza suffered a 3% residual disability as a result of the injuries he sustained from the assault. 
Chinopfukutwa and Saurombe argued that their client felt greatly humiliated, embarrassed, dehumanised and degraded by the assaults and ill-treatment that he received at the hands of the ZPCS officers. 
The human rights lawyers stated that Nduna and Chihambakwe treated Gombedza as if he was a dangerous criminal yet he was unarmed and posed no security threat whatsoever. 
Furthermore, Chinopfukutwa and Saurombe argued that there was no justification for the excessive use of force against Gombedza as he had not committed any crime but was just going about his business walking on his way to Harare’s central business centre. 
In the end, Nduna and Chihambakwe were ordered to pay compensation amounting to US$5 250 to Gombedza broken down as:

i). US$2 500 for damages for humiliation, embarrassment, an affront to dignity and contumelia, 
ii). US$2 500 for pain and suffering 
iii). US$250 for medical expenses which he incurred while being treated. 
</blockquote>
Now, the ZPCS officers have lost some personal property, which was attached and removed by the Messenger of Court on Friday 23 March 2023 and will be auctioned to recover the judgment debt owed to Gombedza. 
Among the household property which Nduna lost include a set of sofas, a deep freezer, a television set, a wardrobe &amp; a printer. Chihambakwe lost a set of sofas, a television set and a room divider.

ZPCS Officers Lose Personal Property For Assaulting "Trespassers"

Two National Foods Limited workers have been arrested for stealing US$162k from the company’s safe after they allegedly tampered with security cameras.
The two are Edward Davirai Mudowaya (34), who was deployed at National Foods by Safeguard Security, and Charlotte Tarisai Munetsi (36), a debtor’s clerk.
They appeared before Harare magistrate Evelyn Mashavakure on Monday facing theft charges.
They were remanded until today for bail application, according to <a href="https://www.newsday.co.zw/local-news/article/200009388/natfoods-loses-us162k-to-internal-burglars">NewsDay</a>. 
National Foods is being represented in the matter by the company’s loss control officer, Bhoki Nyambo.
What happened:
Allegations are that last Tuesday, Mudowaya connived with Munetsi to leave a cash safe in an office drawer after knocking off duty.
Mudowaya also allegedly did not activate the security alarm of her office door, despite having left US$304 093 inside the safe.
In the wee hours of the following morning, Mudowaya allegedly tampered with the security system and stopped all cameras from recording movements during which time the money went missing.
At around 7:30 am, the complainant received a phone call from one of the CCTV operators saying the debtors clerk and cashier’s office door was open and that the safe was also open.
The complainant proceeded to the office and noticed some signs of forced entry at the grill gate lock to the office.
A police report was then filed.
Upon arrival, police noticed bundles of cash in the safe and on the floor.
The notes were counted and they totalled US$142 053. The cashier claimed that she had locked her doors when she left and that there was US$304 093 in the safe.
This meant the duo stole US$162 040.
Further investigations led to the arrest of the duo.

Workers Arrested For Stealing US$162k From National Foods

Former Vice President (VP) <a href="https://www.pindula.co.zw/Joice_Mujuru">Joice Mujuru</a> and her company, Ruzirun Investments, have been ordered to pay US$226 000 debt owed to a local couple, Sabrina and Tony Sarpo, since 2015.
The Sarpo couple owns Peppy Motors, according to <a href="https://www.newsday.co.zw/local-news/article/200009399/us226-000-debt-chokes-ex-vp-mujuru">NewsDay</a>.
The Supreme Court ordered Mujuru to pay the debt following a successful appeal against a High Court judgment which confirmed a provisional order that she had satisfied the judgment debt by making payments in RTGS dollars.
What happened in Court:
The Sarpo couple’s lawyers, Tapson Dzvetero, argued that parties entered into a consent order denominated in United States dollars, which at the time was legal tender.
They argued that payment was supposed to be at the prevailing interbank rate.
The Sarpos told the Supreme Court that the High Court erred at law and grossly misdirected itself in finding that Mujuru had paid the debt in RTGS at the rate of 1:1 after the introduction of Statutory Instrument (SI) 33 of 2019.
Judges of appeal Justice Chinembiri Bhunu, Felistus Chatukuta and Hlekani Mwayera ruled:
<blockquote>
The court a quo, therefore, erred when it held that the order by consent did not create any new liabilities, but merely pronounced on the existing liabilities of the respondents.
The respondents were, therefore, required to discharge their indebtedness by converting the United States dollar judgment to RTGS dollars at the prevailing interbank rate.
Payment made by the respondents at the one-to-one rate, therefore, did not discharge their indebtedness to the appellants. It merely constituted part payment, with the balance remaining due and payable. We, therefore, find that this appeal has merit and ought to succeed.
</blockquote>
The court ordered that the appeal be allowed with costs.
The High Court judgment was set aside and Mujuru and her company were ordered to pay the costs of the lawsuit.
Some context:
The Sarpos couple sold agricultural machinery to Mujuru on July 25, 2014.
Mujuru’s company then defaulted in making payments, prompting the court action.
At the pre-trial conference, the parties agreed to settle the matter and entered into a deed of settlement on May 20, 2019.
An order by consent denominated in United States dollars was then issued on the same date as the deed of settlement for the payment of US$226 000.
Mujuru then made the first payment on July 5, 2019, through a bank transfer of RTGS$76 000 but the Sarpos wrote a letter arguing that the judgment debt had to be paid at the interbank rate.
Mujuru objected arguing that the obligation to pay the amount had arisen before the promulgation of SI 33 of 2019.
She also argued that payment was, therefore, supposed to be at the equivalence rate of 1:1. 
However, the Sarpos ordered the Sheriff to execute the judgment resulting in Mujuru’s combine harvester being attached on September 18, 2019.
On October 16, 2019, Mujuru and her company made a payment of $140 000 directly into the Sheriff’s account and the Sarpos again wrote to her stating that there was still an outstanding balance of RTGS$7 423 413.30.
Mujuru argued that the payment of $470 282.50 covered the judgment debt in full. 
On February 11, 2020, the Sheriff attached Mujuru’s three tractors prompting Mujuru to approach the High Court seeking to stop the execution of the judgment in HC 2954/18.
Former VP Mujuru then sought a final order declaring that she had paid the US$226 000 debt in full and the release of the property attached by the Sheriff.
The application was granted, prompting the Sarpos to appeal to the Supreme Court.

A 24-year-old <a href="https://www.pindula.co.zw/Shurugwi">Shurugwi</a> woman was robbed of valuables worth US$200 before she was stripped naked and pushed out of a speeding car by robbers in <a href="https://www.pindula.co.zw/Gweru">Gweru.</a>
Midlands provincial police spokesperson Inspector Emmanuel Mahoko confirmed the incident which occurred on 26 March around 9 PM at Claybank Traffic Circle. He said:

The police are investigating a robbery case in which a 24-year-old woman from Shurugwi was robbed of cash and property worth US$200. The incident occurred on March 26 around 9 PM near Clay bank roundabout in Gweru.

Insp Mahoko said the woman boarded a white Honda fit at the Cathedral bus stop in Gweru intending to go to Shurugwi. 
He said there were four male occupants including the driver, according to the <a href="https://www.chronicle.co.zw/naked-woman-thrown-out-of-speeding-honda-fit-after-robbery/">Chronicle</a>.
Upon reaching Clay bank roundabout, Gweru, two male adult passengers jumped from the boot and sat in the back seat beside the woman.
The robbers allegedly hit the woman on the forehead with an iron bar and robbed her of her Itel P38 cell phone, a bag containing various clothes, and cash US$80 and stripped her naked before pushing her out of the speeding car. 
She then walked to Gweru Provincial Hospital where she was assisted with clothes. A report was made at ZRP Gweru Central and the scene was attended. 
Mahoko said no arrests were made and nothing was recovered from the stolen goods.
He appealed to members of the public who might have information leading to the arrest of the four suspects to approach any nearest police station with the information.
Mahoko also urged the public to board public service vehicles as they appear to be safer than Mushikashika vehicles.

Woman Robbed, Stripped Naked, Pushed Out Of Speeding Car

A 24-year-old woman from Shurugwi narrowly escaped death after she was pushed out of a speeding Honda Fit vehicle by robbers in Gweru on Sunday night.
The woman was also stripped naked and robbed of her valuables worth US$200 including US$80 cash and an Itel cellphone.

"Mushikashika Crew" Strip Woman Naked And Throw Her Out Of Moving Vehicle

Police in Harare on Monday, 27 March launched a blitz against pirate taxis (mushikashika), with several operators being arrested and vehicles impounded.
ZRP Harare Metropolitan Province spokesperson Inspector Luckmore Chakanza told <a href="https://zbcnews.co.zw/2023/03/27/police-intensify-blitz-against-mshikashika/">ZBC News</a> that mushikashika has resulted in an increase in reports of rape and robberies.
He urged members of the public to shun pirate taxis and use buses for their safety. Said Insp Chakanza:

We are carrying out this blitz because we have cases of armed robbers we have those reports of rape and robberies. We are encouraging commuters to use buses.

Zimbabwe Passenger Transporters Organisation Chairperson, Sam Nhanhanga said:

We believe at the moment we have enough busses, we are awaiting the government to tell us what we need to do to be able to serve the urban areas.

Pirate taxis became popular during COVID-19-induced lockdowns when the government monopolised public transport through the Zimbabwe United Passengers Company (ZUPCO).
ZUPCO buses and kombis were woefully inadequate and this forced the public to use mushikashika as there was no other option.

Police In Harare Launch Blitz Against Mushikashika

The Government says it plans to repatriate more Zimbabweans who are stranded in Oman, an Arab country located in Western Asia.
The Zimbabwean nationals, the majority of who were females, were lured into slavery through false promises of well-paying domestic work in Oman.
Speaking to <a href="https://www.sundaymail.co.zw/govt-to-repatriate-more-nationals-stuck-in-oman">The Sunday Mail</a>, Home Affairs and Cultural Heritage permanent secretary Major-General (retired) Dr. Gerald Gwinji said 107 women and men were repatriated from Middle Eastern country.
However, according to the Government’s database, about 21 Zimbabweans remain stranded in the country. Said Gwinji:

In response to distress calls made by victims of trafficking in Oman, the Government of Zimbabwe allocated resources through Treasury for the repatriation of 107 Zimbabwean nationals.
Of the people repatriated back to Zimbabwe, 105 were female and two were male.
There have been several reports of Zimbabweans who have fallen victim to traffickers.
Using information extracted from the reports, a WhatsApp platform was created to facilitate coordination and to have an appreciation of the number of victims of human trafficking and, as of December 2022, at least 128 people have been trafficked to Oman, with the majority having been repatriated by Government.
Furthermore, Government is considering carrying out the second phase of the repatriation exercise to bring back stranded Zimbabwean nationals in our database.
… A total of 69 cases of trafficking in persons (TIP) involving 139 victims of trafficking were recorded and investigated.
Seven suspects were arrested for TIP in 2022 and are currently in custody pending trial, while three were arrested for domestic trafficking cases.

<h2>Suspected human trafficker on the run</h2>
Police have since launched a manhunt for Jacqueline Takure, nee Chikukwa (45) who is wanted for questioning in connection with suspected human trafficking.
In 2022, Takure allegedly posed as an employment agent and misrepresented to five people that she could facilitate their employment in well-paying hotels in Dubai.
She then facilitated the travel of the victims to Oman where they had their passports confiscated by her accomplices on arrival.
<h2>Kafala System</h2>
Most Gulf nations enforce the kafala labour system. According to <a href="https://www.cfr.org/backgrounder/what-kafala-system">the Council on Foreign Relations</a>, the system gives private citizens and companies in Jordan, Lebanon, and most Arab Gulf countries almost total control over migrant workers’ employment and immigration status.
The kafala system resembles a form of indirect slavery, making it harder for migrants to escape such dreadful situations, <a href="https://sites.bu.edu/pardeeatlas/opinions/op-ed-the-kafala-sponsorship-system-fuels-modern-day-slavery/#:~:text=This%20corrupt%20strategy%20resembles%20a,for%20contemporary%20modern%2Dday%20slavery.">according to a report</a>.

Govt Plans To Repatriate More Zimbabweans Stuck In Oman

Two Fawcett Security guards were recently arrested for allegedly stealing money that had been stolen from Total Energies in Hillcrest, Bulawayo, reported <a href="https://www.zimlive.com/fawcett-security-guards-up-for-stealing-us12000-from-thief/">ZimLive</a>.
Liberty Mugadha, 24, from Magwegwe North and Shanon Moyo, 21, from Nkulumane 11, reportedly stole more than US$12 000 cash from a theft suspect they had just apprehended with his loot.
Mugadha and Moyo appeared before Bulawayo magistrate Nomagugu Maphosa facing theft charges.
They pleaded guilty to the charge and were remanded in custody for sentencing.
Allegations were that on 20 March 2023, at around 2 AM, Mugadha and Moyo were on motorised patrol within Hillside area when they heard an explosion coming from Total Energies.
The court heard that the two promptly went to investigate and when they got to the scene of the incident, they came across Calphar Caliph Kuronga, 30, who immediately tried to flee.
Mugadha and Moyo chased after Kuronga until they apprehended him some 60 metres away from the shop.
They searched Kuronga and found US$12 162 and ZAR900 on him which he had allegedly stolen.
The court heard the two security guards confiscated US$11 997 and ZAR150 from Kuronga, leaving him with just US$165 and ZAR750 on his person.
They then took Kuronga and handed him over at Hillside Police Station.
Mugadha and Moyo were arrested following police investigations.
Police recovered US$3 420 and ZAR50 from the Fawcett Security Guards.

Fawcett Security Guards Arrested For Stealing US$12 000 From Thief

A gang of five armed robbers pounced on the Inter Africa depot in Masvingo in the industrial area on Wednesday and got away with US$14 524 and ZAR13 450.
ZPR spokesperson in Masvingo Province, Inspector Kudakwashe Dhewa, told <a href="https://masvingomirror.com/armed-robbers-hit-masvingo-inter-africa-depot/">The Mirror</a> that the robbery happened on Wednesday around 1 AM.
He said the five robbers were armed with a pistol and iron bars.
The suspects first entered Quality Gas Garage where they tied Taurai Mlambo who was sleeping in his vehicle and Knowledge Mutsananguri who was guarding the premises.
They then demanded the names of the Inter Africa depot security guards from the two before they tied them using shoelaces and bundled them into Mutsananguri’s vehicle.
The suspects drove Mutsananguri’s vehicle to the Inter Africa gate and called the security guards by their names.
However, the security guards did not respond and the robbers force-opened the gate using iron bars and two of them drove into the garage.
The other three robbers then jumped over the precast wall and manhandled Kudakwashe Katiza (36) who was sleeping inside a bus.
They robbed him of his phone before tying two other guards’ feet and hands with shoelaces.
The gang then proceeded to an office and opened a safe using an iron bar and took all the money it contained.
They then drove away in an unidentified vehicle.
The security guards managed to free themselves and reported the matter to the police.
Depot manager, Cephas Machaka (36) attended the scene together with police officers.
Machaka confirmed that indeed, US$14 524 and ZAR13 450 was in the safe.

Masvingo Inter Africa Depot Robbed

One of Zimbabwe’s most influential diplomats, Uebert Angel, says he is number two in the country in terms of hierarchy from President Emmerson Mnangagwa.
If the claims are anything to go by, it means that Angel occupies a higher position than Vice President Constantino Chiwenga.
Chiwenga was the Commander of the Zimbabwe Defence Forces (ZDF) when the military staged a coup in November 2017, which removed former President Robert Mugabe from power.
Some political commentators believe Chiwenga is the man in charge of the country, with Mnangagwa just the face of the government.
Angel, who was appointed a special envoy and ambassador-at-large to Europe and the Americas by Mnangagwa in 2021, boastfully told Al Jazeera undercover journalists the position was created specifically for him. He said:

I am an ambassador-at-large; I am an ambassador to 85 countries. As the special envoy, I am a representative of the President.
If you then look on paper in that position, I am number two, and there is no position like that in the country.
It was just one position that was never filled in. And I occupy that, it was created for me.

Angel is a self-proclaimed prophet at his Good News Church and claims he can heal the sick and predict the outcomes of elections and football matches.
In Episode One of the Al Jazeera documentary, Gold Mafia, Angel boasted that he could assist his guests to launder as much as US$1 billion in cash using diplomatic cover.
Angel appeared to be encouraging them to take advantage of his close ties with Mnangagwa.

Uebert Angel Claims He Is "Number 2" In Zimbabwe

A Mutare-based 65-year-old African Apostolic Church bishop, Charles Tekeshe, allegedly broke into a congregant’s house and stole US$10 800 that was stashed under a bed.
Tekeshe recently appeared before Mutare magistrate, Ivy Musavengana charged with unlawful entry into premises as defined in Section 131(2) (e) of the Criminal Law (Codification and Reform) Act, Chapter 9:23.
Tekeshe was granted bail and remanded to 27 March for trial.
Prosecuting, Sandra Mlambo said Tekeshe broke into Hedsen Mabhutso’s house through the window and stole US$10 800. Said Mlambo:

On May 18, 2021, and in Dangamvura, Mutare, Mr. Mabhutso locked his children in the house and left for his workplace in the company of his wife.
He secured all his property, including the US$10 800 which was stashed under the bed in his bedroom.
At around 10 AM, Tekeshe was seen arriving at Mr Mabhutso’s house by the complainant’s eight-year-old son. Tekeshe was holding a blue box in his hands.
Tekeshe inquired whether the complainant and his wife were present through the window and was told they were away.
</blockquote>
Tekeshe allegedly ordered the minor child to open the kitchen window.
The child complied and Tekeshe went into the house through the window. Said Mlambo:

While inside the house, Tekeshe proceeded to Mr Mabhutso’s bedroom where he stole US$10 800 before going out through the same window.
</blockquote>
Tekeshe allegedly ordered the minor to wipe off his feet and fingerprints using a cloth before he left the house.
Mabhutso returned home on the same day around 7 PM and his son narrated what had happened during his absence.
He went to his bedroom and discovered that his money had been stolen.
Mabhutso reported the matter at ZRP Dangamvura and Tekeshe was arrested. Nothing was recovered.

Bishop Breaks Into Congregant's House, Steals US$10 800

A 13-year-old schoolgirl from Ruwa was allegedly raped by her teacher from Mandley Park Primary School and by her aunt’s neighbour.
The girl’s teacher has not been named but her aunt’s neighbour was identified as Simbarashe Tarisai.
The 13-year-old girl was taken for a medical examination and the results showed that she had contracted a sexually-transmitted illness (STI).
Zimbabwe Republic Police (ZRP) spokesperson in Harare Province, Inspector Luckmore Chakanza, confirmed the development to <a href="https://www.hmetro.co.zw/rogue-neighbour-teacher-repeatedly-rapes-girl-13/">H-Metro</a>. He said:
<blockquote>
The girl was staying with her aunt. On December 26, the girl was at home with the accused, and her aunt was away at work.
The neighbour was reported to have invited the girl to his bedroom where he raped her without protection.
She went to school and when she returned at 2 pm, the neighbour raped her twice and threatened to kill her if she told anyone.
On December 27, the neighbour fled to Debvu Village 6 in Chinhoyi.
The matter came to light when the girl filed a case of abuse against her teacher at ZRP Epworth.
A medical report indicated that the girl had an STI and, when questioned about how she got infected, she disclosed that she was sexually abused by Simbarashe Tarisai.

According to <a href="https://www.healthyplace.com/abuse/rape/rape-prevention-how-to-prevent-rape">HealthyPlace</a>, women can learn about rape prevention and use this knowledge to help them stay safe in many situations where sexual assault could occur. Some of the tips are:
<ul>
<li>Listen to your intuition when alone – stay aware of your surroundings, avoid isolated public areas, walk with determination even if you’re lost, trust your gut, keep your cell phone charged and with you, avoid going somewhere alone with a person you don’t know well, don’t use music headphones when walking alone.</li>
<li>Reduce risk in social situations – Go to parties and social events with a group of friends and stay with the group. Do not leave your drink unattended.</li>
<li>Don’t reveal too much on social media – Turn off the location feature of mobile apps on your cell phone before going out as would-be sexual predators can use these tools to find you.</li>
</ul>
<h2>What to Do When Being Raped</h2>
<ul>
<li>State clearly and unequivocally that you do not want to engage in sex of any kind with the person. </li>
<li>Arrange a special code word with a close friend or family member that you can say if talking on the phone to them to indicate that you are in a dangerous situation and need help.</li>
<li>Make up an excuse as to why you need to leave or that you are having your period, or even that you have a sexually transmitted disease.</li>
<li>Look for an escape route or way to get out of the room.</li>
<li>Call attention to yourself by screaming or making a scene and yelling for help.</li>
<li>If someone actually attacks you, scratch him with your fingernails and pull his hair, bite, and kick – do anything to make him let go even for a second and then run. </li>
<li>As a last resort, try to humanize yourself in the eyes of your attacker. Try to make the attacker see you as a person rather than objectify you. Talk about your family, your kids, your mother. Tell him he is better than the way he is behaving.</li>
<li>If your attacker is armed with a gun or knife, the above tactics may not work effectively… If you choose to physically attack an armed aggressor, your action must be unexpected, sudden, and intensely painful. Target his most vulnerable spots, such as testicles, eye sockets, instep, or windpipe with a lethal intention.</li>

13-year-old Girl Raped By Teacher, Aunt’s Neighbour And Contracts An STI

Citizens Coalition for Change (CCC) leader Nelson Chamisa says Zimbabwe’s current leadership is corrupt and rotten to the core.
Chamisa made the remarks in response to Thursday’s latest Al Jazeera investigation “Gold Mafia”, which uncovered criminals driving gold smuggling and money laundering worth billions of dollars in Southern Africa. Chamisa tweeted:

This clearly shows how corrupt, rotten and broken leadership has destroyed a jewel and great country. Zimbabwe is not poor, it’s just poorly governed.

In a follow-up statement, CCC condemned the corruption, saying the provision of social services in the country has collapsed while millions are being looted. The opposition party said:

In “The Laundry Service” episode, a former accountant of Kamlesh Pattni, a gold smuggler implicated in a scandal that robbed Kenya of 10 percent of its GDP in the 1990s, said his former boss is duping Zimbabwean government officials. Said the former accountant:

He (Pattni) exports jewellery and gold bars to Dubai and the rest of the world. In exchange, he has to bring foreign currency to Zimbabwe. On paper, he is bringing money to Zimbabwe.

ZACC "Closely Following" Al Jazeera Broadcast

Emelda Marizani, a woman from <a href="https://www.pindula.co.zw/Chivhu">Chivhu</a> who killed all her four children in cold blood in 2020 has been sentenced to life imprisonment by High Court judge Justice Munamato Mutevedzi.
Marizani was charged with four murder counts and given four life sentences, <a href="https://www.newzimbabwe.com/just-in-chivhu-killer-mom-slapped-with-four-life-sentences-judge-calls-her-a-highly-dangerous-criminal-undeserving-of-a-second-chance/">NewZimbabwe</a> reported.
The judge described the murder as heartbreaking and shocking and called for a stiffer penalty.
Mutevedzi sentenced her to life imprisonment saying:

The murder was committed in aggravated circumstances; it was a mass murder where the accused killed the deceased simultaneously over a relative period of time without cooling off and on an enclosed geographical location.
She also used multiple fatal methods to kill her victims after she admitted to lacing four cups with poison and instructing her children to drink it. She chose two extreme modus operandi used by murderers.
Cutthroat method was savage and brutal whilst poisoning is considered a more humane way to take life.
Accused is a highly dangerous criminal, the court will show little to no mercy to a mother who butchers her own children.
</blockquote>
Mutevedzi added that Marizani does not deserve a second chance or to go back to society.
Emelda Marizani, who was pregnant with her fifth child at the time the crime was committed, murdered all four daughters to “hurt” her husband Lameck Brande.
In her defence, <a href="https://zero.pindula.co.zw/chivhu-woman-who-killed-her-four-daughters-convicted/">Marizani argued that she was mentally unstable</a> when she committed the murders.

Chivhu Woman Gets Life Imprisonment For Killing Her Children

Robbers pounced on a couple from Konje Village, <a href="https://www.pindula.co.zw/Rushinga">Rushinga</a> and got away with US$18K cash, Pindula News has learnt.
The Zimbabwe Republic Police (ZRP) says the robbers raided the couple on Thursday early in the morning and attacked them before getting away with US$18K cash. Reads the police report:

Police in Rushinga are investigating a case of robbery which occurred on 23/03/23 at around 0030 hrs at Konje Village.
Four unknown suspects who were armed with an unidentified pistol, axe and iron bar, attacked a transport operator and his wife before stealing US$18 091 cash, Toyota Probox vehicle, registration number AEO 3090 and two cellphones.

Police called upon members of the public who may have information on the robbery to approach any nearest Police Station.
Armed robberies have been a concern in Zimbabwe, as they have occurred in various parts of the country over the years. These incidents involve criminals using weapons, such as guns or knives, to steal money or other valuable items from their victims.
It is generally not recommended to keep large sums of money at home in Zimbabwe.
 Storing cash at home can make you vulnerable to theft or burglary, and it may not be covered by insurance in case of a loss.

Robbers Pounce On Couple, Get Away With US$18K Cash

The State has withdrawn <a href="https://zero.pindula.co.zw/chombo-fraud-charges-withdrawn/">another</a> case of corruption against former Cabinet minister, <a href="https://www.pindula.co.zw/Ignatius_Chombo">Ignatius Chombo</a>, because of a lack of evidence.
Three other cases against Chombo that were investigated by the Zimbabwe Republic Police (ZRP) were withdrawn last week.
Chombo appeared before magistrate Stanford Mambanje yesterday, according to <a href="https://www.newsday.co.zw/local-news/article/200008761/state-withdraws-another-fraud-case-against-chombo">NewsDay</a>.
The former Local Government Minister is now left with cases that were investigated by the Zimbabwe Anti-Corruption Commission (ZACC).
It is alleged that on a date unknown to the Prosecutor, Chombo worked in connivance with some colleagues and signed and manufactured a fraudulent Lease Agreement intending to fraudulently acquire Subdivisions “K” Portion of Nthaba Portion of Glen Lome from the City of Harare.
He allegedly connived with Rejoice Pazvakavambwa, Psychology Chiwanga, Iben Pransisco, James Chiyangwa, Theresa Chenjerayi, Ehas Chote and one L. Chimimba. 
It was alleged that during the period extending from 25 June 2004 and December 2009, Chombo and his accomplices forged documents that included a Lease to buy Agreement and Capital Gains Tax Clearance Certificate.
They allegedly later fraudulently transferred the property in question to Alois Chimimba.
The State alleges that he acted to the contrary and was inconsistent with his duties as a public officer.
Now, the state has withdrawn that corruption case against Chombo after failing to provide evidence to back the allegations.
Chombo’s corruption cases:
Ignatius Chombo has been implicated in several corruption cases he allegedly committed during his days in office as the Minister of Finance and later the Minister of Local Government in the government of former President Robert Mugabe.
In 2017, Chombo was arrested by the Zimbabwe Anti-Corruption Commission (ZACC) on charges of corruption and abuse of office. He was accused of defrauding the Harare City Council of over $3.5 million and illegally acquiring several properties. 
Chombo was also accused of using his position as a government minister to corruptly influence the awarding of tenders and contracts.
Chombo was released on bail in 2018, but he was arrested again in 2019 on new corruption charges. He was accused of illegally parcelling out land in Harare to several companies and individuals, including his relatives. 
Chombo has denied all the corruption charges against him, and some of his cases are still ongoing.

State Has Withdrawn Another Corruption Case Against Chombo

The <a href="https://www.pindula.co.zw/Zimbabwe_Republic_Police">Zimbabwe Republic Police (ZRP)</a> has expressed concern over cases of cars being stolen mostly at car parks.
In a statement seen by Pindula News, police spokesperson, Assistant Commissioner Paul Nyathi said Honda Fit vehicles are the most stolen cars. Reads the statement:

<h2>THEFT OF MOTOR VEHICLES AT CAR PARKS</h2>
The Zimbabwe Republic Police is concerned with cases of theft of motor vehicles, especially of Honda Fit vehicles, occurring mostly at car parks.
In one of the cases, on 17th March 2023, police in Bulawayo recorded a case of theft of a Honda Fit vehicle, registration number, AEB 4619, which was stolen at a car park in Pumula East, after the complainant (24) had parked it for overnight safekeeping on 16th March 2023.
Similarly, on 17th March 2023, the complainant (33) lost a Honda Fit vehicle, registration number ADT 8724, he had parked for overnight safekeeping at a car park along 3rd Street, Warren Park 1, Harare.
On 17th March 2023 a Honda Fit vehicle, registration number AEV 5490, was stolen along Bastch Street, between 10th and 11`h Avenue, Bulawayo, where the complainant (57) had parked it, before going to work at Mhlahlandlela Building, Bulawayo.
In a related case, on le March 2023, a 39-year-old man discovered that a Honda Fit vehicle, registration number AFY 7901 had been stolen after parking it for overnight safekeeping at a car park in Manyame, Chitungvviza on 17th March 2023.
In another case, on 18th March 2023, a Mitsubishi Pajero, registration number ABE 7470 was stolen at Warren Hills Golf Club, along Kirkman Road, Harare. The complainant had parked the vehicle and left the car keys under the driver’s seat cover as he went in the bar for refreshments.
Meanwhile, police in Seke are investigating a case of theft of a Honda Fit vehicle, registration number AFA 5656, which was stolen while parked for overnight safekeeping on 20th March 2023 at a car park at Murisa Business Centre, Seke.
The Zimbabwe Republic Police is appealing for information which may lead to the arrest of the suspects and recovery of the stolen motor vehicles.

Police Concerned Over Cars Being Stolen At Car Parks

Incarcerated Zengeza West legislator <a href="https://www.pindula.co.zw/Job_Sikhala">Job Sikhala</a> Tuesday said he has been detained for months based on lies and falsehoods.
He made the remarks when he appeared before Harare magistrate Marewanazvo Gofa on charges of obstructing the course of justice.
He was being represented by his lawyer Harrison Nkomo. <a href="https://www.newsday.co.zw/local-news/article/200009142/liars-keeping-me-in-jail-sikhala">NewsDay</a> cites him as saying:

This case has been clouded with lies from the police and State. I have been incarcerated for 10 months based on lies and falsehoods to keep me here.
The State is just building its case on lies. One of the police witnesses Hardwick Maziti said they were going to bring eyewitnesses and claimed that their case was based on eyewitnesses only to revert later and say the police will use only the video.
How can you charge a person based on a video seen online on YouTube and yet you have not tested its authenticity? I don’t know that video and I don’t know who recorded it.

Sikhala said there were no charges pressed against him when he arrived at Chikurubi Maximum Security Prison in June last year.
He added:

Gofa postponed the matter to today (Wednesday).
Denial of Bail:
Sikhala has been denied bail on several occasions with courts saying he was likely to commit “more offences” once released.
Some political analysts and some Western countries argue that Sikhala’s prolonged incarceration is political and a violation of the constitution.
Section 50(1)(d) of the Zimbabwean Constitution states that a person who has been arrested: “must be released unconditionally, or on reasonable conditions, pending a charge or trial, unless there are compelling reasons justifying their continued detention.”
This is subject to the interests of justice.
A judge may grant bail in respect of any crime. A magistrate within whose area of jurisdiction the accused is being kept in custody may grant him bail in respect of all crimes except a serious crime specified in the Third Schedule to the Criminal Procedure and Evidence Act, of which the most important are:

1). treason;
2). murder or attempted murder;
3). rape or aggravated indecent assault;
4). robbery;
5). indecent assault of a child;
6). kidnapping or unlawful detention involving the infliction of serious bodily harm;
7). crimes involving insurgency, banditry, sabotage or terrorism;

If, however, the Prosecutor-General personally consents to the magistrate granting bail for any of the above crimes, then the magistrate has the power to do so.
When an accused person is indicted for trial in the High Court, the bail will stand but a judge of the High Court may revoke it or alter any condition under which it was granted.
Bail may also be granted by a police officer if a suspect has been arrested on a relatively minor charge and is unlikely to abscond or interfere with the evidence, or commit further crimes.

A man from Bikita in Masvingo Province was last week sentenced to 36 years imprisonment after he was convicted of raping his 9-year-old stepdaughter on several occasions.
According to NewZimbabwe.com, the paedophile repeatedly raped her whenever he was left to look after the girl and her siblings at Shumba village.
The abuse initially came to light after his five-year-old daughter found him raping the nine-year-old in their kitchen hut.
Their mother had left her husband with the two girls and a 16-month-old toddler while she fetched water at a nearby borehole.
According to court papers, the five-year-old girl threatened to tell her mother what she had witnessed but the father started threatening to stab her if she ever revealed what had happened.
The mother then walked in and confronted her husband over what had happened.
She then realised that her daughter had been raped as there was semen on a towel he had spread on the floor. Reads the court papers:

The five-year-old sister walked in as he was in the act and told him that she was going to tell their mother. The accused also threatened to stab her with a knife.
The complainant’s mother walked in, found him threatening the 5-year-old and saw the sperm on the towel that he had spread on the floor where he raped the complainant.
He pleaded with her and asked for forgiveness.

The mother apparently forgave her husband for raping his stepdaughter but he again raped the victim in December 2022 when the mother went to visit an aunt in the same village.
The girl then confessed to her uncle who accompanied her to the police to report leading to the arrest of her stepfather.
The stepfather will, however, serve 32 years effective after four years of his sentence were set aside conditionally.

Bikita Man Jailed 32 Years For Raping Stepdaughter (9)

A 34-year-old man from Nkulumane suburb in Bulawayo allegedly killed his landlord for evicting him from his house.
The landlord, Mgcini Sibanda (44), was found dead on a toilet seat on 19 March after he was assaulted by his tenant the previous day.
ZRP spokesperson in Bulawayo Province, Inspector Abednico Ncube said Mnkandla fled after committing the alleged offence. He said:

On 18 march 2023 at around 11 PM, the now deceased Mgcini Sibanda a male adult aged 44 years had a misunderstanding with the accused person over an issue of why he was still staying in his house while he had given him notice in January 2023.
The accused person assaulted Mgcini Sibanda with an unknown object and he sustained injuries but did not report the matter to the police nor did he seek medical help.
The accused person ran away soon after committing the offence. The deceased was found the following day by a neighbour dead whilst sitting on the toilet seat. A police report was then made.
He had two cuts on the forehead consistent to have been caused by a sharp object, bruises on both knees and blood stains on the left arm.

He urged members of the public to resolve their disputes amicably instead of taking the law into their own hands.

Tenant Kills Landlord Over Eviction Notice

A Rusape taxi driver is lucky to be alive after he was robbed, stripped naked, and dumped by gun-wielding robbers recently.
The taxi driver, Julius Jusa and his friend, Rasheed Chikwenya, were robbed of two cellphones, US$150 and the vehicle.
The duo was dumped in the bush at around midnight and had to seek help while naked.
ZRP spokesperson in Manicaland Province Inspector Norbert Muzondo confirmed the incident to <a href="https://www.manicapost.co.zw/taxi-driver-loses-car-stripped-naked/">The Manica Post</a> but he did not reveal when the robbery occurred. Said Insp Muzondo:

The incident happened near St Joseph’s Primary School Turn-off, along the Rusape-Hwedza Road.
On the day in question, Mr Jusa, who was at OK Parking Area in Rusape, was approached by the three accused persons who asked him to transport them to St Joseph’s Primary School Turn-off.
Mr Jusa asked Mr Chikwenya to accompany him. One of the suspects sat at the passenger’s seat, while the two and Mr Chikwenya sat at the back.
One of the suspects told the driver to turn left towards St Joseph’s High School, but he refused.
Sensing danger, the driver refused to stop the vehicle. The suspect who was on the passenger’s seat produced a pistol and fired a warning shot.
He threatened to shoot Mr Jusa if he failed to comply with their orders.
He ordered Mr Jusa, who was now in panic mode, to sit at the back while he took over the driving. He drove towards Hwedza Road.
He ordered the two complainants to surrender their cellphones and threw the SIM cards outside.
They reached Zindoga Turn-off and turned right. They drove for over two kilometres on a dirty road.
The accused then stripped the complainants naked and took away their wallets with a combined US$158.
They threw the clothes away and dumped the two in a bush. The duo later walked naked before they met a Good Samaritan who reported the matter to the police.
