Two killed, three injured in Bindura mine blast

Two people were killed, and three others were seriously injured in an accident at Goldry Mining Syndicate in Bindura on Saturday.

Police said the incident happened during blasting operations at the mine.

Zimbabwe Republic Police (ZRP) spokesperson Commissioner Paul Nyathi said on Monday that the bodies of the victims were taken to Bindura Hospital for post-mortem examinations, while the injured were taken to Howard Hospital for treatment.

“The ZRP confirms a fatal mine accident which occurred on 17/10/26 at Goldry Mining Syndicate, Bindura, where two people died while three others were seriously injured during blasting operations at the mine,” he said.

“The bodies of the victims were conveyed to Bindura Hospital for postmortem examinations, while the injured were referred to Howard Hospital for treatment.”
