ZANU PF has said only invited and accredited delegates will be allowed into the main arena of its 23rd National People’s Conference at Chinhoyi University of Technology (CUT), where strict security measures will be in place.

The party’s Secretary for Commissariat, Munyaradzi Machacha, said uninvited and unaccredited individuals will be turned away.

He was speaking on the sidelines of a tour of the main venue by the party’s national and provincial leadership ahead of the conference, which is expected to attract more than 7,500 delegates.

The delegates include party officials, affiliates, representatives of revolutionary parties from Africa and other continents, as well as diplomats.

“We are not going to allow those who are not accredited or invited to enter the main arena. There will be strict monitoring and vetting at entrance points as part of measures to weed out unaccredited people and improve security,” Machacha said.

“Those who were not invited and are unaccredited should not waste their time and money, as they will not be allowed.”
