Hardrock will play their Matchday 23 home fixture against Triangle United behind closed doors, the Premier Soccer League (PSL) has confirmed, as it moves to implement disciplinary sanctions handed down after violence marred their abandoned match against Dynamos.

The PSL said on Wednesday that Hardrock’s upcoming Matchday 21 home tie against Caps United on Sunday, 5 July, will go ahead with spectators.

The decision was taken because online and advance ticket sales for the Caps United match had already started when the disciplinary judgment was delivered.

“Hardrock FC’s one home match behind closed doors will be played during the club’s next home fixture, the Matchday 23 encounter against Triangle United FC, which is yet to be scheduled,” the PSL said in a statement.

“This decision has been made to avoid inconveniencing our valued stakeholders who have already purchased tickets for the scheduled match.”

The sanction stems from the abandoned Castle Lager Premier Soccer League clash between Hardrock and Dynamos FC on 24 May 2026.

The match was called off after crowd trouble at Hardrock’s home ground, Chahwanda Stadium in Kwekwe, with missiles thrown onto the pitch and fans invading the field.

The PSL Disciplinary Committee found Hardrock guilty of failing to control their fans and ensure security at the venue.

In addition to the one-match spectator ban, the committee ordered that the abandoned fixture be completed from the time it was stopped, in line with league rules.

The PSL said “specific details regarding the completion of the abandoned Hardrock FC vs Dynamos FC match will be released in due course.”
