The Premier Soccer League (PSL) has ruled that the remaining minutes of the abandoned Matchday 14 fixture between Hardrock and Dynamos will be played behind closed doors at a neutral venue, under the league’s protocols.

The PSL summoned both clubs to appear before its Disciplinary Committee following crowd trouble that forced the abandonment of their Castle Lager PSL match at Chahwanda Stadium on 24 May.

The game was called off after violence, a pitch invasion and damage to property.

Both clubs were charged with causing the abandonment of the match, disrupting normal proceedings, pitch invasion, acts of violence and malicious damage to property.

As the home side, Hardrock faced an additional charge of failing to provide adequate security for the fixture.

Hardrock CEO Kudzanai Hove was also charged as an individual with disorderly conduct, pitch invasion and violent behaviour.

On Wednesday, 1 July 2026, the PSL announced it had delivered its judgment in the matter.

“Both Hardrock FC and Dynamos FC were found guilty of causing the abandonment of the match, pitch invasion, acts of violence, improper conduct and disrupting the normal proceedings of the match,” the PSL said.

“In addition, Dynamos FC was found guilty of malicious damage to the perimeter fence at Chahwanda Stadium while Hardrock FC failed to provide adequate security as the home team.”

The PSL fined Hardrock US$10,000, with US$2,000 suspended for the rest of the season on condition that the club is not convicted of a similar offence.

The club has also been ordered to play one home match behind closed doors. It must submit a revised Match Security Management Plan to the PSL CEO within 30 days.

Dynamos was also fined US$10,000. The club must submit a formal crowd management and stewarding plan to the PSL CEO within 30 days.

In addition, Dynamos must submit a written report after each away fixture for the remainder of the season, confirming the measures taken to manage its travelling supporters.

“The Disciplinary Committee further ordered that the remaining minutes of the abandoned Matchday 14 fixture between Hardrock FC and Dynamos FC be played behind closed doors at a neutral venue under the protocols of the PSL,” the PSL said.

Hove was found guilty of disorderly conduct, pitch invasion and violent behaviour.

He has been suspended from all football-related activities for the remainder of the 2026 season and fined US$5,000.
