Macheso “Fine” After Car Collides With Kombi Near Blue Ridge

Musician Alick Macheso has assured fans he is well after the car he was travelling in was involved in an accident on Sunday morning.

The vehicle collided with a kombi near the Blue Ridge Complex along the Harare–Mutoko Highway.

His manager and publicist, Tich Makahamadze, said Macheso, who was in the back seat, escaped unhurt.

“There is no cause for alarm. He is safe and sound and resting at home. I can confirm that our boss, Alick Macheso, was involved in an accident early Sunday morning on his way from a show near Blue Ridge Complex along the Harare-Mutoko Highway,” said Makahamadze.

“He was merely a passenger occupying the back seat when the accident occurred said his manager.”

He also dismissed claims that a luxury 2022 Mercedes-Benz GLE 400d gifted to him by Wicknell Chivayo was involved in the accident, saying the vehicle was in fact a Toyota Fortuner GD6.

In a social media post addressed to his fans, friends, and the general public on Sunday, Macheso wrote: “I was recently involved in a road traffic accident. By the grace of God, I am safe and in good condition. I sincerely thank everyone for your prayers, love, and concern. Your support means a great deal to my family and me.”
