The Zimbabwe Football Association (ZIFA) has submitted an application for a broadcasting licence to the Broadcasting Authority of Zimbabwe (BAZ).
ZIFA is applying for a webcasting licence, which would allow them to broadcast content directly over the internet.
The association plans to run these operations from their offices at Tendeseka Office Park in Harare.
“Take notice that the Applicant has applied for a Broadcasting Service Licence in terms of Section 10 of the Broadcasting Services Act [Chapter 12:06],” reads part of a public notice issued by BAZ.
In line with broadcasting regulations, ZIFA’s full application details are now open for public viewing.
BAZ has also given the public 14 days to provide feedback on the proposal.
“Any person who wishes to comment on the application may, within fourteen days of the date of publication of this notice, contact the Broadcasting Authority of Zimbabwe, 27 Boscobel West Drive, Highlands, Harare,” said BAZ.
