Zimbabwe secured a convincing 3–0 victory over Botswana in a Mukuru Four Nations Tournament match played at Obed Itani Chilume Stadium in Francistown on Saturday evening.
The Warriors scored all three goals in a dominant first-half performance, before goalkeeper Elvis Chipezeze preserved the clean sheet with a crucial penalty save after the break.
Highlanders forward Mongameli Tshuma opened the scoring in the 24th minute. McCauley Bonne doubled Zimbabwe’s lead eight minutes later, and Belgium-based Bill Antonio added a third on the stroke of half-time to put the result beyond doubt.
Botswana were awarded a penalty in the 66th minute but failed to capitalise, with Chipezeze producing a fine save to deny them a consolation goal.
The victory secures Zimbabwe a place in the final, where they will face Zambia on Tuesday. Zambia booked their spot after edging Malawi 9–8 on penalties, while Botswana and Malawi will meet in the third-place play-off.
