War Veterans apologise to Mujuru, regret being used by Mugabe to remove her

The Christopher Mutsvangwa led Zimbabwe National Liberation War Veterans Association (ZNLWVA) has apologised to National People’s Party (NPP) leader Joice Mujuru for the war veterans’ role in her expulsion from Zanu-PF.

Speaking to NewZimbabwe.com, ZNLWVA secretary general Victor Matemadanda said that they regret being used by President Robert Mugabe to remove Mujuru from Government. Said Matemadanda:

War veterans regret being used by Mugabe in hounding former Vice President Joice Mujuru out of Zanu PF. We believe that even the general membership of the party also feel just as much used. At the time we did not realise that Mugabe was using us in the expulsion of a genuine cadre of the struggle and party. When the leader of the country and party speaks about witchcraft and accusing his deputy it is difficult for people especially those at the grassroots to analyse and realise they are being taken up the garden path. Now we realise how cunning Mugabe is. He will stop at nothing to get things his way. We have realised what our blind loyalty to Mugabe has done to our country. We understand the predicament that those still supporting Mugabe find themselves in. We do not blame them and really Zimbabweans must forgive them. We also seek forgiveness because at the time we did not know and except for those at the very front of G40 few in Zanu PF understand Mugabe’s nature and manipulative tactics.

  1. When will u apologize to the innocent victims of torture and political persecution, victims of Gukurahundi and the general populace that u have held to ransom all these years for Mugabe’s political expedience?Shame on u,suddenly u seem to have some conscience though grossly misguided.

  2. You have been used in many acursion. Mugabe knows how to manipulate people. I still can’t understand how a normal person can back a 93 yr old man to lead him. I also fail to understand how a normal human being can put their trust and invest their time and money to Zanu Pf after all the wrongs they had caused in Zimbabwe.

  3. This is self-serving, just to attract some expected donor funds in their vain attempt to besmirch the President’s name. Tomorrow Matemadanda will be apologizing again to President Mugabe for being used to attack him. How confused !!
