Kombi Driver Arrested For Bedding 14-Year-Old Bulawayo Baby Snatcher

Police in Bulawayo have taken into custody Godwell Mumba, a 36‑year‑old kombi driver, on allegations that he raped a 14‑year‑old girl.

The matter came to light after the teenager herself was arrested for allegedly abducting a two‑year‑old toddler at Meikles Mall.

During questioning about the toddler’s disappearance, which sparked an alarm before the child was safely recovered two days later, the girl is said to have revealed she was in a sexual relationship with Mumba.

Following her revelations, detectives opened an investigation which led to Mumba’s arrest.

Bulawayo provincial police spokesperson, Inspector Nomalanga Msebele, confirmed the arrest and said Mumba is being charged with having sexual intercourse with a young person, in violation of section 70 of the Criminal Law (Codification and Reform) Act.
