Waddilove High School in Mashonaland East Province, run by the Methodist Church in Zimbabwe (MCZ), has once again set the standard for academic excellence, maintaining a 100% pass rate in the Zimbabwe Schools Examination Council (ZIMSEC) Advanced Level results for several consecutive years.
In the 2025 results, 56 learners scored 15 points and above, up from 55 learners in 2024. Out of 156 candidates, 149 achieved 10 points or more, with the top student scoring an impressive 25 points.
27 learners scored 20 points each, compared with just 10 the previous year. In Pure Mathematics, 39 of 63 candidates earned an A grade.
The school also excelled at Ordinary Level, achieving a 98.6% pass rate in the 2025 ZIMSEC O Level examinations, with 209 out of 212 candidates passing five subjects or more.
A total of 108 learners obtained five or more A grades, while two students achieved a remarkable 15 As each.
Reverend Daniel Muzenda, MCZ Secretary for Education and Academic Affairs, attributed the school’s consistent success to the combined efforts of teachers, parents, and learners. He said:
“We are happy with the refreshing pass rate at Waddilove High School and other MCZ learning institutions.
“We attribute the success to both the teaching and non-teaching staff who are working tirelessly for the betterment of the learners.
“We also hail the parents and guardians who are paying their school fees timeously, enabling school authorities to secure provisions for the learners without any hustle.
“The church has been playing a role in incentivising the teachers so that we produce quality results. We also thank Glow Petroleum, our partner, for also incentivising high-performing teachers.
“We will make sure that we maintain such academic excellence at Waddilove High School and all the other MCZ schools across the country.”
