Zimbabwean midfielder Marshall Munetsi is set to join Paris FC on loan after the newly promoted French club reached an agreement with Wolverhampton Wanderers on Wednesday. The loan deal does not include an option to buy.
Munetsi, 29, has played 13 English Premier League matches this season but fell out of favour with the new Wolverhampton manager, whose team currently sits at the bottom of the league. He was sold to the English club from Stade de Reims for €18 million in February 2025.
For Paris FC, Munetsi brings valuable experience and Ligue 1 knowledge. During his five and a half seasons with Reims, he played 148 Ligue 1 matches, scoring 21 goals and providing 14 assists.
The midfielder also fits the box-to-box profile sought by coach Stéphane Gilli: powerful, athletic, and capable of driving forward.
Barring any unforeseen issues, some documents still need to be exchanged between the two clubs, Munetsi is expected to arrive in Paris on Thursday for his medical examination.
If all goes smoothly, he should sign quickly and be eligible to play in Sunday’s match against Nantes.
Nantes had also been negotiating with Wolverhampton for Munetsi’s loan, but Paris FC proved more persuasive.
