By Advent Shoko

Simba Bhora have made history by winning their debut match in the CAF Champions League, edging Eswatini’s Nsingizini Hotspurs 1-0 in the preliminary round first leg at the Obed Itani Chilume Stadium in Francistown, Botswana.

The Match

The decisive moment came in the 57th minute when high-rated defender Ishmael Nyanhi calmly slotted home, sealing a famous victory for the Shamva-based side. Despite playing away from Zimbabwe due to the stadium crisis, Simba displayed grit, organisation, and composure to claim not just a win but also a vital clean sheet.

Next Step

The second leg awaits in Eswatini, where Simba will defend their narrow lead with everything at stake. For now, though, this debut victory is a landmark moment, proof that Zimbabwean football is still capable of producing continental contenders.
