ZANU PF loyalist Wicknell Chivayo marked Munhumutapa Day on 15 September, coinciding with President Emmerson Mnangagwa’s 83rd birthday, by announcing cars and cash gifts for the party’s ten Provincial Chairpersons and pledging support for public health infrastructure.

In a social media post, Chivayo lauded ZANU PF’s “unshakeable foundation” and “systematic structure,” contrasting it with what he described as the “fractured, poorly coordinated opposition.”

He also singled out the party’s provincial leadership as the “engine” driving ZANU PF’s grassroots mobilisation and electoral success. Wrote Chivayo:

“Our Provincial leaders have worked very hard in the shadows, but rarely receive the public recognition they deserve.

“They have kept the wheels of our revolution turning and the party united.”

To celebrate the contributions of ZANU PF’s provincial leadership, Chivayo announced a series of high-value gifts and initiatives.

The package includes ten brand-new 2025 Toyota Land Cruiser 300 Series VXR vehicles, each valued at US$190,000, which are fully paid and ready for collection from Faramatsi Motors in Harare.

In addition, each Provincial Chairperson will receive US$100,000 in cash to support “small development and empowerment initiatives” within their respective provinces.

Chivayo also pledged ten state-of-the-art Toyota Land Cruiser ICU ambulances, each worth US$90,000, earmarked for government general hospitals in provincial capitals, pending presidential approval.

Chivayo framed the gesture as a tribute to Mnangagwa’s leadership, while also calling on the business community to support government efforts to renovate and improve public health infrastructure.
