Sulu Laughs Off Claims He Hit On Grace Mugabe

Musician Sulumani (Sulu) Chimbetu has laughed off social media rumours claiming he made romantic advances towards former first lady Grace Mugabe.

The online claims, which went viral over the weekend, alleged that Chimbetu had proposed to the widow of the late President Robert Mugabe after a supposed run-in in Mazowe.

It was also alleged that Grace even reported Chimbetu for harassment at a Harare police station.

But speaking to ZimLive on Tuesday, Chimbetu rubbished the claims, saying he never approached Grace and dismissed the whole saga as a calculated smear campaign. Said Chimbetu:

I’m just seeing the messages and posts going viral about the allegations. It’s not true. Nothing of that sort has ever happened, and these are just people trying to create content in a bad way.

There has been no confirmation from the police regarding any such arrest, and Grace has not publicly commented on the matter.

Meanwhile, the former First Lady marked her 60th birthday with a lavish celebration over the weekend.
