Controversial socialite and musician Mai Jeremaya, real name Ashley Masendeke, has released what she calls her “final words” to the two men she accused of rape, Martin Charlie and Thabo Blessing Dube, following their acquittal earlier this month.

In a statement shared alongside her emotionally charged new single Pamushana, Mai Jeremaya declared that the men would endure “a lifetime of suffering” unless they sought forgiveness and made peace with God for what she continues to claim they did to her.

Charlie and Dube were acquitted by Harare Regional Magistrate Letwin Rwodzi, who ruled that the State had failed to present a convincing case.

The judgment pointed to several inconsistencies in witness testimony, contradictions in Mai Jeremaya’s own statements, and a lack of supporting evidence.

The defence team argued the encounter was consensual and transactional in nature, alleging that Mai Jeremaya had later demanded more money than initially agreed.

Despite the court’s ruling, Mai Jeremaya has maintained her stance. Below is her statement translated from the Shona language:

Final words.

Poverty is destructive. Not just any poverty, but true suffering. Today, I want to thank Thabo and Martin. You were used by God to change my life.

You benefited from where you shouldn’t have, and you took on misfortune. I carried a misfortune that had a stench, and I passed by people who knew it was me.

I was afraid of everyone, I was struggling, I longed to be loved. I’m sorry to tell you that things are going so well for me now, to the extent that I now believe the concept we learned in Economics A-Level: that one’s loss is another’s gain.

Yin and Yang… basically, if you wrong someone who hasn’t wronged you, you will face bad luck. You will suffer, guys. You will go to bed hungry, guys.

You will suffer. I feel sorry for you, I even wish I could reverse it for you, but you think you’ve won, so you never got time to seek mercy, even in private.

You made a big mistake, guys. Brotherhood is not even happy with you. May you rot in poverty until you seek Jesus.

Cynthia, I always had a bad feeling about you, but I thought I was sinning against God by being annoyed with you, when it was actually just intuition.

But I am grateful that I learned, you know. I’m sorry, but life will take a while to hurt you; drugs are hard to live with but you have a loving family, people are praying for you including myself.

To JMP, thank for releasing this song finally. I have a good feeling about it. To God, my refuge and strenghth, I shall not want.

I dedicate this song to everyone who has been praying for something. It is well. Dont give up. Thank you.
