November ZIMSEC Exam To Go Ahead As Planned – Govt

President Mnangagwa, yesterday, while addressing the nation said the primary and secondary final year students were supposed to sit for their final examinations in November and December as planned, despite the fact that learners were last in school on 24 March 2020, ZimLive reports.

During his address President Mnangagwa said:

…The developed and approved guidelines that were put in place for the June 2020 examinations will be used for the holding of the final examinations in November/December.

The announcement is likely to be met with stiff hostility from parents and teachers as it places a lot of students at a disadvantage since they may be inadequately prepared to take their final examinations.

        1. This is not reasonable coz they made us spent half of the year indoors restricting lessons now they expect us to sit for exams

      1. This is something else, I mean we last went to school on March 23 and now this, please reconsider the examination dates. We are not ready yet.

  1. This is hard for A Level students mainly science’s class on expriments and even syllabus harina kupera -June exams which were written they wre external students( repeating)

      1. This is a stressful strain for candidates, since they last learnt in March worse for practical subjects

        1. We are not prepared at all why put our future at stake ,please reconsider your decision Mister president

  2. We still need time to prepare for the exam because you guys can’t expect us to read and understand the whole syllabus in a short period of time.

    1. This will be unfair i only have grade seven certificate obviously if we write exams early without enough time to study i will remain with that certificate.Hounarable President and the cabinet we are kindly asking you to push the dates so that we get enough time for study

  3. Am this is very hard Mr President and cabinet .How can we push our syllabus 2 months and write on November .This is very impossible .May i find my comment valid .Please can we open on January an d write i. November next year sir we need time to prepare so please can you find a way .I am an O’level candidate

  4. other people didnt have access to online classes so how do they expect them to write with a quarter of te syllabus in their head

  5. Yes …we would want to write but just a month to prepare isn’t enough , maybe if we write in November not October or Dec maybe caz we had not yet finished our syllabuses and some of us airen’t doing online lessons due to the economic stability

  6. Zvamukuita hazviite izvi hw can we write isu takangoita first term chete tonyorei ipapa kuita syllabus wega hapana chopinda panodawo teacher

    1. Sure zvimwe zvinoda a teacher to teach not just reading ukukutiomesera zvenyu .Dai murimi mainyorei .Try to understand kuti the country needs employees and employers

    2. I think its good if we reopen as candidates tonyora hedu tikafoira ndizvozvo coz syllabus inopera form 3 mostly for. Four it’s revision coz tikazvinonokera next year its impossible vasikana vakuta kunge anaMai and makore haamire anenge achiienda nhumbu nevana vasina anaBaba vachawanda

Better for us to write zvichakanaka please

      1. 😂😂😂 so you arr afraid of getting pregnant ? It’s better to get pregnant than to get pregnant plus kufoira

        1. Please honourable sir…we cant afford to this October and produce standard results….authentically most of de candidates we are not yet fully prepared to write ….Online learning was not adequate enough…some of us did not get access to it especiall candidates from all angles of Rural areas.let alone it is very expensive…i understand it is in your hands to make the final decision but please try to consider us as the candidates….It is not easy to prepare within two months especially for students doing 12 or more subjects…yes we are fully aware that it is of paramount importance to write but we are also concerned about our results…..it is very painfull as child to disappoint your family or relatives at the very last minute… for some of us this is our last shot to prove that our parents efforts to pay school fees was profusley appreciated…..Sir if we write this year all our dreams and goals would fade into obscurity…..As for the Science students we are not fully enlightend with praticals and some of our stuff from the syllabus requires a one on one tutor…..please sir …consider our petitions as students of 2020….our future lies in the hands of these examinations….we would greatly appreciate it if you grant us this opportunity to fully prepare and produce better results to upgrade our Zimbabwe

  7. I don’t its a god idea for us to write in Nov because we did not cover up our syllabus …if you say we are going to Write in Nov I think we will not be able to produce good results so its better to shift your dates and we will write in Jan / Febr

  8. Haaa kana mkuona zvikunetsa ngatinyore June because November uyoo ma00 anobudapoka haaa kana nemi hamumadewo guys …Candidates life matter …Our Syllabus matters …tkunyora November hazviitwe hatina kuqana nguwa yakaqana yekudzidza musatimhanyise kani please

Vamwe hatitozivi anything on Islam pa A level hatina kuita saka mukuti tonyorei ..imi tiitireyi mushe please ..hamusi imi mukunyora ka nhai

  9. this is impossible ha we need to prepare for the exams we didn’t have much time yekupedzisa the syllabus…..and hatisi tese tine acces to internet yah we can open September but we are not ready for november exams a 1yr couse can’t be covered in 2 weeks we are not machines who work 24/7
    CANDIDATES LIVES MATTER

    1. Who knows myb nxt year yacho yamukuchemera will be worse cz hatizive where this covid thing is goin to lead us ….WHO said we have it for the min of 3 years so would you like kuzonyora2023 or 2024?????

  10. This is not fair at all. Mr President must include that there are some students who are in the rural areas where they can’t access the internet which means no online learning. Other students can’t afford to have extra lessons. We all know that there is covid and some parents find it dangerous to send their students to go and do extra lessons in fear of exposing themselves to this deadly pandemic. We all know that the government finds it difficult not to write the exams this year but in my point of view it’s the best thing to do. Talking about O level students (it’s the time when someone’s future is made) so i think Mr President must revise his thoughts about writing exams in November. One last thing.. letting us write the exams is just giving covid 19 a chance to spread at it’s peak. Hope my review is going to be taken seriously

  11. We need at least three months so as to cover through the whole syllabus and to practice experiments. Some of us haven’t done any experiments at our schools

  12. This is too large piece of meat to chew. Some students are slow learners who need at least extra attention for them to master something. What more to give them only a month to master one year syllabus ,uuuuuum. I am seeing students heading for a doom. Education is the key to success especially here in Zimbabwe where 5 ordinary Level subjects passes are a requirement for one to be employed to any sector,so let’s think about it. Our students are tomorrow’s leaders who must be fully empowered with necessary knowledge and innovative skills for the betterment of tomorrow. Only genius can read and comprehend the syllabus alone. But we only have less than half of those genius who can do that ,the rest is like lifting a large rock uphill ,it’s just a hard but to crack. So my point of view is a stitch in time saves nine, a good preparation is a joy of life. If we consider the concern of our future leaders, let’s give them enough time to prepare, soldiering on encouraging them to read and revise thoroughly,as active as quicksilvers ,not at a tortoise’ s pace . This is not only a stressing calamity to students, but to teachers also, producing a batch of Os and Us is something which demotivates. So please please please next year is the best for our candidates for them to produce colourful results. Coming out with Us is like losing all your blankets in winter time.imagine sir. I know very well that you His Excellence President ED Munangagwa you have humans at heart. You’re the people’s president who does things according to what people want so revise you thoughts about this November Zimsec exams, this should not be done this year. Our hard earned money will go for nothing which we payed as exam fee. Uuuuuum ,have merce on us. The God our Jehovah will be with you if you consider these crying students. Education is the key to success !

  13. They should consider students from poor background from rural areas where there is no access of internet.. Some of these students they last attend their books in March till now since the gvt also banned extra lessons where will those students master their subjects n topics… Writing this year is a bad idea the grade will be bad

  14. November its right time guys , as A levels we dont need to rely on our teachers but we should work on ourselves and i think from March to November a clever student must have prepared enough guys

  15. Ummm hazvis fair kuma extra lessons kwacho taisaenda cz zvaisabvumidzwa..kungoda hedu kt tivhure asi hapana kana chibobuda . sen hanku hapana zvinobuda cz syllabus red reaccounts a level kana usingazive hapana chaunonyora

  16. Vanhu musanyeperwe don’t be misled by these bogus online news site epasi pemuti aya. The article doesn’t say where ED addressed the nation. And why is it that this is the only new site reporting about it when the president addressed the nation? Mamwe am newspapers aivepi. Don’t feed people with malicious information plz. Nyaraiwo

  17. asiri kuda anorega ongonyora next time, sum of us tine zvimwe zvekuyta it’s better to fail then repeat pane kusatombopihwa an opportunity….wat were u doing all along as a responsible candidate, the situation is fair because no one was going to school

    1. Why do you speak like a genius ? What’s better to you, passing or U/Fs i don’t even think you’re a student , everyone has a lot to do but this is a world thing no need to rush .we can still do this in 2021

    2. At A level a teacher is just a facilitator who is supposed to provide only 10% and the rest it’s up to you….Food for thought

      1. Honestly A level is about who teaches basing my argument on the science field. Its extremely hard to attain good grades in physics bio or chem without a good teacher.

  18. Black lives matters ! Every child has right to education and where is the right ? This is our country where are we rushing to ? We can take Exams when we feel that we’re ready . Last time yoy said we were going to write after having 3 months of learning where is the 3 months ? Online lessons !! What is online lessons , i mean who does that ? People in rural areas you think they even have access to the internet ? Most of us we don’t understand learning online despite the fact that we need room to ask questions …. just imagine someone teacher aripamberi pake haatonzwe then yiu say online lessons ! Did you know that we as students we can just agree not to write not because we want to demonstrate but because we’re blank , it was lockdown and didn’t had time to go over our syllabus . Why do you say things you wont stand for , ko chipepa chakanzi exams to be written in January 2021 chakabvepi hanty ndimi ? Whoever claiming to be the leader if you read all of the above comments , you will know , to be called a gvt it’s people . Black lives matter !

    1. kana usingadi kunyora mira unyore when you are ready, zvauri kutaura izvi ts not what everyone wants, uzive kuti govt haisi ma journalists not everything you see pama news paper has been said by them

  19. This is disgusting we have not yet finished the syllabus on any of the subjects. So why will we be writing early?. Its better to write in december to january

  20. Why don’t we just write the exams online ,.oh wait not all of us are privileged enough to be able to do online classes 🙀 y’all are wicked just coz your spoiled Bratz were getting special treatment and you think everyone is ready . Listen to the teachers they best and it’s not a secret that the candidates are not ready

  21. good morning . i think we should write this year coz its going to be tough for us grade sevens to write next year what if this corrona does not finish the sooner the better

  22. Haaa guys thats not fair at all because we are not prepared to sit for exams may u reconsider coz obvious people are going to fail

  23. endai munonyora mugofoira mugodzokorora , covid haisi kupera zvokumhanya , if you are not carefull mucharamba muri ma form 4 kana 6 forever . covid is here to stay kana vakakutii nyorai they will adjust A yoinda pa 35% B 20 % C inenge iri ye attendance , saka kungopinda mu zama usati wanyora chunhu C watopasa , unozodei

    1. Ummm November haaite vana havana chavakadzidza sure vakawanda vasina kukwanisa kuita online learning nekuti mawaniro akasiyana hama maybe march it will be OK

  24. What we want is to open schools and sit for our exams cuz we are now tired of reading while not knowing when to write

  25. This is not fair bcoz you us stopped us from attending lessons then you say we should write this year aaaaaa hazvibude we are not ready

  26. guys we as children we a giving both sides 50%-50% going or not goin but first tell us kuty macases ari kuriser ever day kuty achimira er kuriser er or coz tichatozongo sangana n trust me social distancing will not work n the case will riser

  27. l thank our gvt and all other stakeholders, Nov exams must written coz serious students did anything that could necessarily help them to prepare for unknown exams, no one announced that we are no longer writting we are ready and we were preparing for exams

  28. This will be unfair i only have grade seven certificate obviously if we write exams early without enough time to study i will remain with that certificate.Hounarable President and the cabinet we are kindly asking you to push the dates so that we get enough time for study

  29. What do you think we are magicians we can not sit for an exam we ddnt learn for no syllabus is complete that is unfair you are not using logic you need a ministry of common sense cause apparently it is lacking

  30. We as candidates need at least 3 full months before sitting for our final exams coz we closed sxls before official dates due to this corona pandemic soo kuvhura nekunyora too Early or kusurpriswa can’t be fair Coz masyllabus ain’t over

  31. Thats fine,,,,if you saying we should write in Nov then schools we should opened this September😁😁😁

  32. Well I think it would be nice if you consider the fact that we lastly went to school in March and you still expect us to sit for exams. It does not make any sense at all. All I want to say is that consider us especially science students like me who do experiments and such and such. Tinokumbira mutifungewo panyaya iyi because we are pretty much disadvantaged.
