Zimbabwe Mulls Lifting Livestock Importation Suspension

Zimbabwe is seriously considering lifting livestock importation suspension after South Africa took great strides in controlling the foot and mouth disease, the Chronicle reports.

This was revealed by the  Ministry of Agriculture’s Chief Director Dr Josephat Nyika who spoke to ZBC and said:

We are monitoring the situation and after that, we will produce a progress report which will enable us to make informed decisions.

Zimbabwe had banned the importation of live goats, pigs, cattle, sheep etc after a foot and mouth outbreak in South Africa.
