President Mnangagwa Says The ZANU PF Conference Shall Give Direction To Govt

President Emmerson Mnangagwa has said that the ZANU PF’S 18th People’s Conference is essential to the government as it is expected to provide policy direction.

The conference is slated for the 11th to the 14th this month at Goromonzi High School, Mashonaland East and is themed “Modernise, Mechanise and Grow the Economy towards Vision 2030.

Speaking about the event which is expected to be attended by over 7000 delegates, Mnangagwa said:

Our conference must proffer the appropriate policy direction to Government and outline achievable goals. We will not tolerate armchair leaders. The culture of the Second Republic is servant leadership. Those who are not prepared to fold their sleeves and work for the party, bad luck. We must remain a listening party.

His remarks echo those of the Defence Minister, Oppah Muchinguri whois also the party chairperson who recently claimed that the conference will deliberate on bread and butter issuers.

Meanwhile, government critics view the event as a waste of money and time saying that nothing new will come out of it even when it is held when the country is facing a myriad of challenges.
