Mystery Surrounding Dr Magombeyi’s Disappearance Worsens

The mystery surrounding the disappearance of the president of Zimbabwe Hospital Doctors Association, Peter Magombeyi has intensified following reports by his doctors that they were investigating a possibility that he was injected with an unknown drug.

Magombeyi went missing on the 14th of September and was found on the 19th. Observers said that the doctor had been kidnapped by the state for leading a demonstration against paltry salaries.

His doctors and nurses are reluctant to reveal his health condition amidst reports that he was electrocuted during the time he was missing. Speaking to the Standard, one of Magombeyi’s lawyers said:

The doctors have extracted pathological samples from Magombeyi and we are now waiting for the lab results of the tests conducted.

The reluctance in revealing Magombeyi’s health condition came after Home Affairs Minister, Cain Mathema warned the media, lawyers and civil society groups against “interfering” with police investigations.

The police say investigations are underway to establish what really happened to Magombeyi who is yet to give his side of the story.

Magombeyi’s disappearance exacerbated the situation in government-owned institutions as doctors and nurses downed tools demanding his return.

  1. Remember the GoZ perpetrators of these heinous acts are no novices, but professionals specially schooled in the practices but the State despite its childish denials.

  2. Doctors are also aware of State security tactics obviously Mathema is trying to instill fear on the Doctor so that he will not reveal the truth. The truth is coming out as it is. Abductions and torture is barbaric is Premitive behaviour.
