Civil servants through the Apex Council have lamented how their salaries are affected by the economy’s inflationary tendencies which are eroding their salaries on a daily basis despite a recent 76% salary increment. Speaking to the Chronicle Apex Council President Mrs Alexander said, the recent salary increment triggered a basic commodities increment rendering their increments useless.
Said Mrs Alexander:
What is happening in the market is unacceptable and Government must step in. When civil servants receive increments, prices of basic commodities and services shoot up. Retailers and service providers don’t even care how much increment was received, they simply review their prices upwards,
Mrs Alexander also said they will continue to negotiate for a better salary with the government and they are demanding that their salaries match the current interbank rate at any given time as a measure to curb the rapid erosion they are currently experiencing.
We didn’t conclude the salary negotiations. We don’t have dates yet but we’ll continue and we hope that the Government will consider our requests. Our position is that salaries should be matched by the current interbank market rates because all prices have gone up by that factor

This so called apex is fake and useless. Those who put it in place must now pull it down. It is highly sympathetic towards gvt against its purpose. Why did they accept 76% when it never matched the interbank rate. Just shut up
This is nonsense
Rubbish
