President Emmerson Mnangagwa stopped at a hospital to visit Vice President Kembo Mohadi on Saturday morning before heading to Chinhoyi for the final day of the 23rd ZANU PF National People’s Conference.

Mohadi had been admitted on Friday night. George Charamba, who is the Deputy Chief Secretary in the Office of the President and Cabinet (Presidential Communications), said on X that the Vice President was “doing remarkably well”.

“The Vice President was last night detained at a local hospital and is doing remarkably well,” Charamba wrote.

“This morning His Excellency the President passed by the hospital to check on him before proceeding to Chinhoyi for the second and final day of the ruling ZANU PF’s Annual People’s Conference.”

Mohadi’s absence meant he could not deliver his vote of thanks and take-note speech at the conference. Party national chairperson Oppah Muchinguri-Kashiri read it on his behalf.
