DStv Zimbabwe will introduce new subscription packages in November, following the rollout of a revamped package structure in South Africa.

In a statement issued on 6 October 2026, DStv Zimbabwe said the service was being “reinvented from the ground up” under a new brand ethos, “DStv Expect More” promising subscribers more choice, value and control.

The broadcaster said the new packages would be tailored to different viewing preferences, including movies and series, sport and family entertainment.

“This is the new era of DStv, one that gives subscribers more choice, more value and more control than ever before,” DStv Zimbabwe said.

Some reports suggest that the new packages will be rolled out on 5 November in several countries, among them Zimbabwe, Nigeria, Kenya, and Namibia.

The changes follow MultiChoice’s launch of new DStv packages in South Africa on 17 September, which the company described as its biggest package update in 15 years.

Under the new structure, some major channels, including M-Net, kykNET and Mzansi Magic, became available on lower-tier packages.

DStv also expanded access to sport, with full PSL coverage available on Select and a new Sports package featuring 17 dedicated sports channels.

The Sports package includes PSL, Premier League and UEFA Champions League matches, as well as cricket. The previous Access, Family and Compact packages have been restructured as Starter, Select and Sports, with additional channels and content added to the tiers. A new Movies & Series package has also been introduced.

However, DStv Zimbabwe has not yet disclosed details of the packages that will be introduced locally or confirmed whether they will mirror the South African offering.

DStv packages and prices generally vary across African markets. MultiChoice operations in different countries have their own subscription prices, billing currencies and channel line-ups, reflecting local market conditions.

Prices can also differ because of factors such as inflation, exchange rates, operating costs and taxes. Channel line-ups, particularly sports content, may also vary depending on local broadcasting rights and market demand.

Zimbabwean subscribers will therefore have to wait for DStv Zimbabwe to announce the local package options, prices and channel line-ups ahead of the November rollout.
