Special Presidential Investment Advisor Paul Tungwarara was reportedly airlifted to South Africa after suffering a health emergency on Monday, just hours after vowing to continue flying in helicopters despite warnings following the death of Wicknell Chivayo.

Tungwarara, who posted a video aboard a helicopter on Sunday, was flown out in the early hours of Monday, arriving at 1:21 AM after being diagnosed with angina, a heart-related condition. Friends told ZimLive he is responding well to treatment.

On Sunday, posting on X while en route to Mberengwa, Tungwarara said he had received prophecies and warnings urging him to stop using helicopters after his “dear brother” Chivayo, his wife, a security aide and two pilots died when their chopper came down on a farm in Marondera on 30 September.

“We are flying to Mberengwa. People have been bringing various prophecies and warnings, telling us to stop using helicopters as our mode of transport because our dear brother, Sir Wicknell Chivayo, perished in a helicopter crash,” he wrote.

“However, I am not going to stop flying in helicopters out of fear of the unknown. None of us will escape this life alive.

“We should never live in fear of death as if we were immortal; all mortals must die. We will continue to fly in helicopters to honour Sir Wicknell Chivayo.”
