Musician Killer T has been arrested in Harare for allegedly sending threatening WhatsApp messages to the family of a man mauled to death by four dogs in Southerton, Harare, on 24 September 2026.

Killer T, real name Kelvin Kusikwenyu, was taken to Mabelreign Police Station on Monday for questioning after a report was made by the complainant.

The arrest is linked to the death of Malcolm Takudzwa Muzavazi, 39, who was attacked along a footpath near a car sale in Southerton last week.

National police spokesperson Commissioner Paul Nyathi said the dogs — one Belgian Malinois and three Belgian Malinois-German Shepherd crossbreeds — were under the care of a private security guard.

The guard had reportedly released them from their kennels for feeding at around 6PM when the attack occurred.

Three suspects have already been arrested in connection with the fatal mauling — car sale co-owners Gilbert Rumbwere, 44, and Itai Tamirepi, 43, and security guard Mannex Svova, 21. Rumbwere had initially gone into hiding before he was apprehended.

Commissioner Nyathi reiterated that dog owners have a legal obligation to ensure their animals are properly secured and controlled at all times to prevent attacks on the public.

He said dogs must be confined within premises and should only be allowed in public places when under the effective control of a responsible person or restrained on a leash.
