Police have arrested six men in connection with armed robberies in Harare, Kwekwe and Bindura, while launching a manhunt for four suspects linked to two murders and two robberies in Kadoma.

Zimbabwe Republic Police (ZRP) spokesperson Commissioner Paul Nyathi confirmed the arrest of Tendai Nzvenga, 39, in Mpopoma, Bulawayo.

He said detectives from CID Homicide acted on information that Nzvenga was hiding in the suburb and mounted an operation on 30 September 2026 that led to his arrest.

Police have linked Nzvenga to three armed robbery cases in Harare and Kwekwe. The first occurred at N. Richards Shop in Graniteside, Harare, where cash and valuables worth US$38,316.00, ZAR1,950.00 and ZiG74,370.00 were stolen.

The second was in Marlborough, Harare, where cash and valuables worth approximately US$597,000 were taken.

The third was at a cement company in Redcliff, Kwekwe, where cash and valuables worth about US$600,612 were reportedly stolen.

Commissioner Nyathi said that during interrogations, Nzvenga implicated Dingani Mpofu, 49, and Witness Hlongwane, 40, who had been arrested earlier and have since been remanded in custody.

In a separate incident, police in Bindura arrested Godfrey Chakawa, 27, Bwana Jumbe, 42, and Tombstone Gangata, 34, in connection with a mine robbery.

The trio, together with three accomplices who are still at large, allegedly attacked two security guards and stole approximately 300kg of pregnant carbon at a mine in Bindura on 25 September 2026 at around 1 am.

The three have appeared before the Bindura Magistrates’ Court and were remanded in custody.

Meanwhile, police have appealed for information leading to the identification and arrest of four male suspects linked to two murders and two armed robberies in Doneni and Battlefields, Kadoma, between 30 September and 1 October 2026.

According to police, the suspects raided a homestead in Village 1, Doneni, where they shot and killed a 24-year-old man.

They then moved to a nearby homestead where they allegedly shot and killed a dog before robbing the occupants of cash and two mobile phones valued at approximately US$450.

The suspects later proceeded to Swerengoma Mine where they allegedly attacked two complainants and demanded cash and gold. One of the complainants was shot and later succumbed to his injuries.

The bodies of the two victims were taken to Kadoma District Hospital mortuary for post-mortem examination.

The ZRP is appealing to anyone with information to report it at their nearest police station or to contact the National Complaints Desk on 0242 703631 or via WhatsApp on 0712800197.
