Chinhoyi University of Technology (CUT) has reportedly evicted all students from its on-campus residences to accommodate delegates for the 23rd ZANU PF National People’s Conference.

According to the Amalgamated Rural Teachers Union of Zimbabwe (ARTUZ) president Obert Masaraure, students were removed despite having paid their accommodation fees in full.

“Chinhoyi University of Technology has evicted all students from on-campus housing. The move is aimed at accommodating delegates to the ZANU PF 23rd Conference,” said Masaraure.

“These are students who are fully paid up and some of them are working on dissertations.

“The priority in Zimbabwe is always ZANU PF business. The ruling party knows how to manufacture pain for our people.”

The 23rd ZANU PF Annual National People’s Conference is scheduled for 12 to 17 October 2026 at CUT in Mashonaland West Province, with between 3,500 and 4,000 delegates expected to attend.
