Wicknell Chivayo has gifted US$250,000 in cash and a brand-new 2026 Ford Ranger Platinum to musician Jah Prayzah as part of an elaborate birthday tribute shared on social media.
In a post on Saturday, Chivayo described Jah Prayzah as the “Greatest of All Time”, praising him as a “consistent artist” and “creative genius” whose music fuses modern sounds with African heritage.
“You have continued to masterfully fuse modern music with our rich African heritage, giving every generation a reason to be proud of who we are,” Chivayo wrote. “Your music entertains, teaches, heals, inspires and, above all, constantly reminds us of the importance of preserving our culture and identity.”
As part of the birthday gift, Chivayo instructed the musician to “go and see Victor on Monday at Exquisite Car Dealership and collect your brand new 2026 Ford Ranger Platinum, which is fully paid for and ready for collection”.
He added, “Please collect US$250,000 in cash, as I promised, and spoil yourself on your special day. Please usasiye Mainini vangu, ndivo vanobata nekuchengeta mari.”
Chivayo also alluded to rumoured wedding plans for Jah Prayzah this August. “Rumour has it that there may be wedding bells this coming August. I am yet to receive my invitation, but whether I receive one or not, I have already decided that I will simply gatecrash,” he wrote.
Chivayo said he would not “spoil” the musician too much on his wedding day, joking that he would gift “fridge, microwave, a few plates and cups, neku pledger mombe ne mbudzi dziri kumusha”.
However, he offered one major wedding gift: a performance by Chimurenga music legend Thomas “Mukanya” Mapfumo. Chivayo pledged to pay Mapfumo US$500,000 in cash if he performs at the wedding.
“If, for whatever reason, that performance does not happen, I will still gladly invite him to perform for my family and me in my own backyard on my birthday and pay him 1 million USD,” Chivayo added.
“It would be an honour for our Chimurenga icon to finally retire from music as a millionaire, and perform his last bira in style, ignoring opinions from all the broke and helpless social media celebrities.”
Jah Prayzah, whose real name is Mukudzeyi Mukombe, has emerged as the leading recipient of Chivayo’s generosity, receiving cars and cash valued at over US$1 million from February 2024.
The gifts spanned luxury vehicles and cash handouts for his family, dancers, band members, and staff, reflecting Chivayo’s high-value patronage of the award-winning musician.
Highlights include a Mercedes-Benz S500, a Range Rover, and a Land Rover Defender, alongside multiple Toyota Aquas distributed to his dancers, band, and employees.
