CCC MP and former close ally of Nelson Chamisa, Susan Matsunga, has praised President Emmerson Mnangagwa and his adviser, Paul Tungwarara, following the drilling of a borehole in Mufakose, Harare.

Tungwarara on Tuesday, 14 April, officially handed over boreholes drilled in Budiriro North Constituency, an opposition stronghold, under the Presidential Borehole Drilling Scheme.

The event was attended by ZANU-PF Central Committee members, including businessman Kudakwashe Tagwirei and Godwills Masimirembwa.

Matsunga represents Budiriro North and retained her parliamentary seat after Sengezo Tshabangu assumed leadership of CCC legislators in 2023.

“I want to thank His Excellency, the President of Zimbabwe, Baba Emmerson Dambudzo Mnangagwa, in absentia. Muripo musipo nhume yenyu yasvika, Baba Tungwarara and development yavaunza mukati me Budiriro North. Baba hamuna kutarisa kuti muri baba vemhuri iyi muri baba vemhuri yese,” said Matsunga.

“Baba ropafadzwai and your wishes be fulfilled. On behalf of the citizens of Budiriro, we are happy, we are proud of you, Daddy. Everyone is here, leaders are here and are testifying. We have never seen this miracle,” she added.

The Presidential Borehole Drilling Scheme has been used by the ruling party, ZANU PF, to decampaign the opposition in urban areas, accusing it of failing to deliver basic services to residents.
