Parents Warned Over Exam Registration Fee Fraudsters

The government has warned parents and guardians to be on the lookout for exam fee fraudsters as the registration period for the 2026 national school examinations enters its final stages.

The warning follows a worrying trend in which some proprietors of new private schools are accused of diverting registration funds, leaving students with fake statements of entry.

In an interview with state media, Ministry of Primary and Secondary Education spokesperson Taungana Ndoro urged parents and guardians to ensure that the schools enrolling their children are properly registered as either ZIMSEC or Cambridge examination centres.

“All parents should take note that the registration deadline for June ZIMSEC 2026 examinations was 27 February. This is the time to verify. We urge parents to ensure they receive statements of entry with official ZIMSEC stamps and fonts. You are free to verify these directly with ZIMSEC,” said Ndoro.

He added that students attending unregistered schools must register as private candidates at approved examination centres, including government schools, council schools, or duly registered private colleges.

Ndoro also urged parents and guardians to visit these centres in person to confirm their children’s registration and avoid any last-minute problems.

Last month, the government extended the registration deadline for the November 2026 Zimbabwe School Examinations Council Advanced and Ordinary Level examinations from 27 March to 22 May.
