Heavy Rains Leave Mana Pools National Park Roads Impassable

Essential Tools

The Zimbabwe Parks and Wildlife Management Authority (ZimParks) has said Mana Pools National Park has been severely affected by recent heavy rains in the Zambezi Valley.

In a statement on Thursday, 26 March, ZimParks said the downpours have caused major damage to key infrastructure, including major access roads, part of Rukomechi Bridge, and the access road shortly after crossing the Runese River, making most routes into the park currently impassable.

The Authority urged clients with confirmed bookings for March to April 2026 to contact the ZimParks Bookings Office for assistance with alternative arrangements, including rescheduling or credit notes where applicable.

Meanwhile, walk-in self-driving visitors are strongly advised to avoid travelling to Mana Pools National Park until further notice.
