Bleak Christmas For NRZ Workers As December Salaries, Bonuses Delayed Until January

National Railways of Zimbabwe (NRZ) employees have not been paid their December salaries, as well as their Annual Bonus.

The company said this is due to financial challenges, which continue to constrain the organisation.

In a notice to employees on 31 December 2025, NRZ Acting General Manager, Ainah Dube-Kaguru, said the management has decided to firstly disburse the December 2025 salaries commencing the week beginning 5 January 2026.

She said it is anticipated that all employees will be paid both the ZiG and USD salary components by 23 January 2026. The Annual Bonus payments are expected to commence thereafter.

The approved ratio for the December 2025 salaries is 50% ZiG and 50% USD.
