Essential Tools

In an effort to reduce road fatalities and improve emergency response during the festive season, the Traffic Safety Council of Zimbabwe (TSCZ) has deployed ambulances to major accident-prone areas across the country.

The initiative, announced ahead of the Christmas travel peak, aims to position emergency medical services closer to high-risk areas, providing rapid assistance in the event of road traffic accidents.

The deployment covers key sites in all ten provinces, with services provided by Discovery Ambulance and HEMS.

In Masvingo Province, ambulances have been stationed at Chiredzi, Jerera, Nyika, Chibi Turn Off, Mwenezi, and along the busy Masvingo–Beitbridge corridor.

Midlands Province has coverage at Mvuma, while Manicaland sees deployments at 22 Miles, Juliusdale, Rusape, and Birchenough Bridge.

Mashonaland East has extensive coverage, with ambulances placed in Murehwa, Mudzi, Hwedza, Chivhu, and Rukanda (Mutoko).

Mashonaland West is covered at Makuti, Magunje, and Karoi, while Mashonaland Central has services at Rushinga and Dotito.

In Matabeleland South, ambulances are deployed at Beitbridge, Guyu, and Makado, while Matabeleland North has coverage at Lupane, Nkayi, and Shangani.

In the event of a road traffic accident or any urgent situation requiring medical assistance, motorists can reach TSCZ via mobile on +263 77 292 2623.

Toll-free numbers 991 and 591 will be active throughout the festive season.
