Businessman Tinashe Mutarisi has announced the closure of Nash TV, a media outlet operating under his Nash Holdings group.
Nash TV was launched during the COVID-19 lockdowns and played a key role in promoting and managing emerging musical talent.
The channel supported the careers of artists such as Saintfloew, Nisha Ts, Raymer, Ninety6, and others, providing marketing, management, and promotional assistance.
Mutarisi announced the decision on Tuesday evening while travelling to Masvingo to attend a funeral.
He said he intends to shift his focus entirely towards entrepreneurship, business development, and mentoring the next generation of Zimbabwean entrepreneurs.
Mutarisi also promised a full Facebook Live session soon, where he will provide a more detailed explanation of the closure.
Below is Mutarisi’s decision announcing the closure of Nash TV:
“Nash Holdings announces the immediate shutdown of its entertainment operations under the NashTV brand.
“Although music was never part of our long-term strategy, we have always valued our relationship with local artists.
“During the COVID-19 era, Nash Lockdown evolved into NashTV, and we later supported several musicians with marketing, management, and promotional services.
“We are proud to have contributed to the rise of talents such as Saintfloew, Nisha Ts, Raymer, and Ninety6, just to mention a few, and strengthened Zimbabwean’s creative industry.
“We have communicated this transition to all artists previously under our care. While stepping away from direct management, we will continue to offer guidance and assist them in building their own recording studios and securing new professional managers for the next phase of their careers.
“We will appreciate your support as we refocus our efforts on mentoring entrepreneurs and the growth of Zimbabwean enterprise.”
