NetOne has tweaked its popular Mo’Gigs data bundles offering, leaving customers angry.

In a public notice on Monday, 3 November, the telecom giant said the bundles now come with separate Peak and Off-Peak data allocations. It said:

“NetOne’s revamped MoGigs bundles now offer Peak and Off-Peak data. This allows you to separate your essential, daytime data needs from your heavy, non-urgent data activities, helping you stretch your data budget further.”

According to NetOne, Peak time runs from 7:01 AM to 12:59 AM, while Off-Peak time is from 1:00 AM to 7:00 AM.

Under the new system, subscribers who purchase the monthly US$30 Mo’Gigs bundle, which offers 30 GB, will only be able to use 25 GB during Peak hours, with the remaining 5 GB available during Off-Peak periods.

Before the changes, users could access all their data at any time without needing to adjust their schedules.

The changes also affect the other 30-day Mo’Gigs bundles. For instance, the US$7 bundle now provides 5 GB in total, of which 4 GB is for Peak use and 1 GB for Off-Peak.

The US$12 bundle offers 10 GB, split between 8 GB Peak and 2 GB Off-Peak, while the US$15 bundle provides 15 GB, with 12 GB allocated to Peak hours and 3 GB to Off-Peak. The largest US$50 bundle offers 50 GB, with 40 GB for Peak use and 10 GB for Off-Peak.

This leaves us in angry mood you don’t tell customers about your changes as for me I am a real customer to Netone but you are not able to encourage us or tell us as your customers

This is day light robbery. A normal person is fast asleep in those off peak hours which means that the on peak data will finish way before the off peak one. One is then he forced to buy another bundle so that they can access internet during the day.

Why is it that Netone ALWAYS looks for ways to SCAM their customers. Instead, good marketing calls for businesses to go out into the market so that they can establish exactly what their customer needs are and then work to fulfil them. Netone does exactly the opposite; forces silly and exploitative products on their loyal customers.
